The order is tough. No one knows who wants who. But here are my top 11 as of now. Two of these guys could be Blazers. Who would you NOT want out of these 11, and who would you replace that person with? I really feel comfortable with my top 8. I just wish I could come up with 3 more that I would be happy hearing their name called at 11. Anthony Davis PF Thomas Robinson PF Michael Kidd-Gilchrist SF Bradley Beal SG Andre Drummond C. Harrison Barnes SF Damian Lillard PG Austin Rivers SG Perry Jones PF Jared Sullinger C Kendall Marshall PG
Anthony Davis Thomas Robinson Michael Kidd-Gilchrist Bradley Beal Andre Drummond Harrison Barnes After these six there is a bit of a drop off IMO.
If teams don't reach and take the BPA we should have a choice of two players: Andre Drummond or Harrison Barnes.
Just as long as they take the BPA and not draft for need. By that I mean drafting Lillard over better prospects like Barnes or Drummond would be a mistake.
After the top 6 the next 10 seem to be about on the same level and all depends on what needs you forsee. The next 3 I like after the top 6 are PJ/Lillard/Sullinger but you can easily take any of those guys out and replace them with Rivers/lamb/waiters/zeller/Marshall/Hensen/Leonard/Tjones
I really like Lillard but he's not a top-6 prospect in this draft. You always draft BPA and if Barnes or Drummond are there at #6 you have to take them w/o a second of consideration for Lillard.
I wish there was a way to swap our 11 pick with GS's 7 pick without giving up too much. Then we could take BPA AND a gamble and really get the 2 guys that we wanted instead of leaving it to chance 5 picks later. Unfotunately I think that would require more than I would be willing to give up
Or even getting up to #8 or #9 would be good. With #11 I think I want one of Lillard, Marshall, Rivers, or (if we don't go with a big at #6) maybe Leonard. Not sure what it would take to move up those spots. I am impressed with Lillard, but a little wary of taking him at #6. Obviously 2nd rounders would be on the table, maybe rights to Euros? Since Toronto and San Francisco are such metropolitan cities maybe they would be interested in Claver or Freeland which also would take them off of our cap hold situation. Maybe an option to swap picks next year (top 3 protected)? One thing is true, if we keep both of these picks Summer league should be fun.
Ok you guys talked me into Waiters, so he needs to be in my top 11. Someone has to go. Tough call between by bottom 3 but PJones didn't make my cut. Anthony Davis PF Thomas Robinson PF Michael Kidd-Gilchrist SF Bradley Beal SG Andre Drummond C. Harrison Barnes SF Damian Lillard PG Austin Rivers SG Dion Waiters Jared Sullinger C Kendall Marshall PG
OK I know no else cares about this thread but me, but I am updating my picks non-the-less: Lamb is in and Sullinger is out. I now have 4 SG's and 2 PG's out of my top 11. I want a new young back court. Ideally I would love for Beal to fall to 6 and Lillard to 11, but I won't hold my breath. If Beal or Barnes really did fall (and Lillard did not, I would go with Marshall at 11) If MKG or Drummond falls to us at 6, I would want a scoring SG to be picked 11. But if we went ahead and took Lillard at 6 regardless who slipped to us, I would go with Rivers or Waiters. Match him up with a SG that has at least some pG skills. Then run an offense that does not need the PG to dominate the ball.
