I may get some flak for this, because I'm starting with the Natty first, but here's what I think what next years Bowl Games will be played. BCS National title. Miami, Florida. #2 USC(13-0) vs #1 Georgia(13-0) Winner: USC, 33-29 Rose Bowl. Pasadena, California Michigan(11-2)#8 vs. #9 Oregon(10-2) Winner: Oregon, 34-21. Orange Bowl. Miami, Florida. #5 Clemson(11-2) vs #8 Louisville(13-0) Winner: Louisville 35-33. Fiesta Bowl. Glendale, Arizona. #3 West Virginia(11-1) vs #7 Alabama(10-2) Winner: West Virginia 45-21. Sugar Bowl. New Orleans, Louisana. #4 LSU(11-2) vs #15 Kansas State(10-2) Winner: LSU 30-24. So yeah, Matt Barkley and the Men of Troy come to Miami against the red hot Georgia Bulldogs led by QB Aaron Murrary and the Dawgs deep into the SEC's backyard, where that region of the country is chanting SEC SEC SEC to keep the streak alive. The game is an epic of the ages, both teams playing stellar, but Robert Woods and Marquis Lee prove why they are the best 1-2 Punch in the country. Murrary tries for a Hail Mary during the last 2 minutes of the game in hopes of tying it, going for 2, and a field goal to win(off of an onside kick) but the Men of Troy hang on, wrecking their 2 point conversion and recovering the Onside kick. So yeah, my prediction is that Oregon loses both games(sorry!) but manage to end the season on a good note with Chip getting a Rose Bowl win over Michigan. D-Rob has good feet, but Mariota has better arms and receiving corps to tangle with the experienced secondary. And their D-Line will be thrashed by DAT and Barner. Michigan’s loses came at either of these teams: Alabama, Michigan State, or Iowa. Yes, I made Louisville the Cinderella team, but Teddy Bridgewater reminds me of Andy Dalton, and Dalton took TCU to a Rose Bowl victory over Wisconsin(who would get an Outback Bowl against Arkansas...and win). They may rustle some feathers that's for sure. Clemson doesn’t get embarrassed this year, but still lose AGAIN, much to the ire of ACC fans a plenty. West Virginia winning the Big 12 makes a lot of sense, considering that Geno Smith looks like a 1st Round Overall QB pick to me. And what better storyline than for these 2 teams to have the Home-and-Away for 2013-14? Their one loss came at Kansas State. Alabama losing but making it to another BCS berth makes sense, their losses coming at the hands of either of these teams: LSU(for sure) and an upset loss against Tennessee/Michigan. Crimson Tide have a slight down year, but would be ranked very high in the coming season once their defense has experience under their belts. Their only issue is rebuilding their stud OL, but they got talent up to their ears. The Sugar Bowl was easy, have an at large team, like LSU, against an young upstart, Kansas State. Unfortunately, Colin Klein(who may get picked 4th Round) will be 0-2 against SEC competition, but his heart and determintion make the Bayou Bengals sweat, but with the loses to upset Washington(who finishes 2nd in Pac-12 North. Plays and defeats CHOklahoma in Alamo Bowl), upstart Tennessee(plays in the Outback Bowl but loses to Wisconsin), and to Georgia in the SEC Championship, the Mad Hatter and company cap off a BCS victory back in the Super Dome where they flopped the year prior. So, what about your bowl predictions everyone? Edit: Switched Oregon and Louisville.
in this scenario I think Oregon would still be in the Rose Bowl unless I'm mistaken. *edit on NON AQ stuff thats only if one is in top 4* But Rose Bowl still has the tie in with the 2nd Ranked pac 12 team even with SC going to the National Title Game I believe.
still props to this thread, good one to get me thinking about Next year while my brain is still in off-season/ Baseball and Soccer mode I'll have to think about this for a while and post in a bit
We'll see what happens with the playoff talk too. That said the national championship is in Miami and I just don't see 40 thousand Duck fans going to south beach for that event. Cost, holidays and such.. Further it's almost a home game for any SEC school. Throw in the Orange Bowl is not a great venue, it's kinda dirty as in not well kept up and I'd say USC will feel right at home. For that reason alone I'd rather see USC take the trip and have us win our second Rose bowl against a Michigan team that can't keep up with us with all our fans there to appreciate the beat down. My gut says our championship window starts next year and I really want us to win against the next SEC team we meet in a top level bowl. I think we're a year shy of this goal. However if we could achieve this goal while beating USC into the ground twice, I'd be very happy. The sad part is us disposing of the condemns puts us in Miami with 100 fans playing Bama..... on Jan 3rd.....
The Orange Bowl and BCS title game will be held at Sun Life Stadium, which is where the Dolphins play.
Also, I don't think the rules were changed from only allowing 2 teams from a conference into a BCS bowl, were they? 'Bama in the Fiesta Bowl couldn't happen, could it? With GA and LSU ranked above them and in BCS bowls, that is.
I understand that Legends and Leaders are the stupidest division names, and people will have no clue what team is a legend, or what makes a team a leader. Iowa, Michigan and Michigan State are in the same division. Putting Michigan in a 0-2 count against 2 good divisional foes will mean they shouldn't make the championship game.
Solely for the sake of sounding cool. It would have been better if it was "East" and "west", just to make things simpler. Tis only an opinion and prediction. And look at the lower posts. Playoff doesn't happen till 2014, so we would be stuck with the BCS system till then. That's true, but considering the caliber of teams next year I put the Ducks there because all the other bowls might be full. I'll have the Ducks be in the Rose Bowl and Louisville in the Orange Bowl. Agreed. I think that the Ducks recieving corps and secondary will improve next year to be on par with elite teams across the country. Especially with a QB as electrifiying as Mariota I can see the Ducks in the Rose Bowl...Championship Game. Probably against the Crimson Tide. Thank you. I put a lot of thought into this as I researched, watched videos, and paced at night lol. If so, then maybe Louisville may go to the Orange Bowl and Oregon to the Rose. I thought that the Rose Bowl only takes an at large team and since I am predicting that Louisville will have a magical year they may get an invite. Rose bowl would work better I guess. I can make an edit.
