The Ultimate Fighter LIVE, a co-production between FX and Zuffa, is a one-and-done, according to various reports. The longest running sports reality series on television moved from SpikeTV where it had fourteen mostly successful seasons to FX this past year, which included a time shift (from Wednesdays to Fridays) and what the UFC referred to as "live jive", a combination of 30-45 minutes of taped footage followed by a live fight at the end of the hour. While the live aspect seemed to liven up the fights themselves, the UFC inadvertently created a problem in that either fighter who qualified for the finals of the show could've been injured and unable to compete just two weeks following wrapping up. TUF will return to a pre-taped format for its sixteenth season, so far unannounced, but FX have decided to keep the show on Friday nights where it has suffered its lowest ever ratings. Meanwhile, The Smashes, the second international iteration of the show (following TUF Brazil), will start filming this summer. A UK vs. Australia format will be used on the show though coaches have yet to be announced. British bantamweight "Bad" Brad Pickett is rumoured to be a coaching candidate for the UK team but so far no names have emerged for a possible opponent. The most famous Australian martial artists are George Sotiropolous, a TUF veteran and UFC lightweight, and former UFC middleweight and light heavyweight Elvis Sinosic.
