I counter your sarcasm with bitterness: sure it matters, but only in teams they'd seriously consider. We will be unaffected either way.

That's crazy. The parallels of the rise of Westbrook! Deja vu.

Maybe we can re-draft Bayless as a consolation prize again.

It sucks that we won't be able to get him at 6. :sigh:

Man, today's just been a shitshow of bad news for me.

If Lillard goes to Sac at 5 then we are in great shape.

And there was a time I was hoping to grab him at 11. Which was dumb to begin with obviously. Im going to really hate seeing him blow up for another team. Hopefully Drummond drops and develops.

    I agree....

That means Beal, Barnes or MKG have dropped to us...or even a remote chance of Robinson, I doubt it, but it could be possible...

Any guard the team drafts had better be a starter by the end of the season, or they were a wasted pick. I don't see Lamb making it either.

Barnes may have a good workout in Sacto. Who knows. I think some of this will help people feel better if we do end up taking Lillard at 6. The midrange game was money. I agree his shot has a bit of extra motion and is a bit low, but when you shoot that kind of percentage . . .

    Yeah, me too.

BART was shut down and I had a hell of a time getting to work.
Heard a rumor that 2 major acts scheduled for Saturday Genentech concert have canceled, one being Lady Gaga due to concussion. (although Genentech concert rumors are usually bs)
A's win in the 9th on the road but are overshadowed by Giants perfect game. What's the big deal? A's already have 2 perfectos.
And Blazer Caravan is mad at me.

I don't know if I agree. There are some young guys out there that may not be a wasted pick but are still a year away. If Beal is gone at 6, and our options at 11 becomes Rivers, Waiters, or Ross, (who are all freshman/sophmore) then i still think it is a good investment in our future if we grabbed one of them. I would prefer Wes as a long term back up, but Elliot Williams still has an outside chance of winning the starting position.

Bottom line is the "end of next year" is too soon to judge. I like Rivers, but I think he needs a good year under his belt.

Lillard will be 22 soon and will have to change his game from SG to PG and that's with NBA defense draped on him.

I don't see in anyway how he's a better option than a young vet FA point guard and Dion Waiters.

I have to be honest, that answer is great for a small market team like Portland
