"The Celtics are spending these days focused on players — draftable players, free agent players, their own players. But there is another "P" word that must be dealt with before the club can truly chart its course for the 2012-13 season and beyond.

    Process.

It's not a matter of what they want to be when they grow up. We know that answer. They want to be NBA champions again.

The question is how they want to grow up."

Well, say goodbye to Allen. All indications are that he is done in Boston. Garnett has hinted at retirement, as well as Pierce. If Garnett keeps playing, it's hard for me to see him playing anywhere other than Boston.

Boston is going to have a lot of free cap space to rebuild.

    Any ideas?

    Nah, no real ideas.

I know they want a big man. They will probably draft atleast one in the draft.

So there was a rumor at the trade deadline... Bulls would have sent Deng and Boozer to Boston for Pierce and Garnett. You like that deal?

Deng needs surgery so he's going to miss some of the start of the season. Boozer's pretty solid. Pierce and Garnett would have given the Bulls a one-year shot for the title, maybe two, but they're young enough to build around Rose again after those guys' contracts expire.

    To late now, though. Thoughts?
