If Rivers or Waiters are there at #11, I seriously hope POR takes one of them....Both are going to be good IMO...and both have shown ability to get thier own shot off, which is what POR really needs...
Could easily happen, Sac must have liked Drummond after his workout. Either way it's a win win for us. Here's to Sam Amick knowing what's up though: http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2012/writers/sam_amick/06/13/mock.draft.2/index.html
Will Waiters be around at #11? Also, would a Lillard/Waiters draft make MM's head explode? (reminds me of the Steve Blake/Juan Dixon pairing... worst case of course!)
I don't know about MM, but that would be a somewhat disappointing considering all of the quality 4s and 5s in this draft.
I heard centers were on their way out, and that any center available to us would be made of clay. Also, do we need 4's when we could resign Hickson as a backup to our best player who happens to be a 4? Sure there may be cheaper options than JJ but it's not like we'll be signing a backcourt FA with that imaginary cap space. I'm intrigued by Drummond but seeing Hasheem "The Human Tank Job" Thabeet has made me seasick around "can't teach size" projects.
Yeah at this point I just don't think we will end up with Lillard. IMO there are 6 better players that will be available at #6. (Unfortunately two of those 6 are SF's) There may be an outside chance he slips to 11 though and in that case he may be the BPA.
Drummond looks strong and coordinated. Thabeet on th other hand looks like he is easily pushed out of the way.
Where to begin? - I never said centers were out ... maybe they aren't as important as they once were, but it's nice to have a guy who can anchor the middle of your defense (long and agile guys who can cover ground, hedge on screens and rolls, box out, etc.) -We might resign Hickson, but there are no guarantees and aside from just adding as much raw BPA talent we need some depth in the front-court. All we've got is LA and Thomas under contract next season (yikes!) Who will we be using our imaginary cap-space on? I have no idea, but this free agent class looks pretty tepid. So maybe we draft a big and keep Hickson? -Thabust and Drummond have very different levels of athleticism -- Totally different players in my opinion. Drummond seems more like a Deandre Jordan, Javale McGee type whereas Thabust is more Shawn Bradley, George Muresan.
Interesting that he has Marshall going 17. If he's going to drop that far, I hope we make an effort to trade up for him. I can't imagine how thrilled I would be if we got Drummond at 6, Ross or Rivers at 11, and then moved up to get Marshall as well.
The A-10 ain't no chopped liver. His numbers against good teams outside of conference were just as impressive as in conference.
Sam Amick @sam_amick #NBADraft notes to round out your week: Andre Drummond goes blind (briefly) as another team looks at him; & more- http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/20...mmond.nba.draft.notes/index.html?eref=writers
Does anyone know where I can get Tony Parker's combine stats? I wonder how Lillard compares to Parker at that age.

We should be able to convince Jordan to take the #6 for the #2 straight up by telling him the #6's PER is higher.
