    Funemployment!

We recently had someone quit, no notice, just quit and stopped showing up. Then she applied for unemployment. It was initially denied, but then she wrote a bullshit story about bad working conditions, etc and it went to the judge. Our labor attorney just advised us not to show up to avoid her suing if she lost the unemployment...so there she is, quitting and getting unemployment. I doubt she's looking for a job she's just taking care of her kids, her husband works and she's getting like what, $280 a week free for 99 weeks. yay.

if they offered a reward for turning in people who commit welfare fraud, they would wipeout a large chunk of it methinks

a guy i know started claiming unemployment after a slow week as a stagehand, then conveniently injured himself at home a week later, so now he cannot accept work, even though he "really wants to"

Yeah, the entire "welfare" system is really rife with fraud. If most of it can be cleaned up the money can be put to much better use fort he people who need it.

Oregon and most liberal states have required that for at least 10 years. This is just the feds making the red states catch up.
