The answer is no.... Why would you do that when all indications are that you may be able to buy\acquire a pick in the 20's for cash, a player, both 2nd rounders, future draft pick or some combination of those?
the fact you quote KS makes me feel that much better about disregarding your opinions on many of these matters. I'm not saying they should do it but if you really want a crack at more talent, then this is the draft where a move like trading down for back to back picks makes sense. and we all know chad ford has never been wrong about any of this stuff!
Ok perfect, Pinwheel, thanks. So the question would be......... Is Rivers. Ross, Soup Juggler or Lamb a surer bet than two of guys like Harkless, Miller, Moultrie, Nicholson, Teague, Fournier, Taylor, Wrotten or maybe even possibly PJ III? I think if you tiered them out, the answer would be no. I would certainly rather have Ross than any of the players I listed, but assuming Ross was BPA at #11, and after draft workouts and whatnot, most mocks had the players I listed available at 21/22 I would take Harkless and PJIII instead. Just more bang for the buck
I voted no, but only because I don't think the trade adds up from a value perspective. If it were a mid-teens pick paired with one in the twenties then I'd have no problem trading back.
I should qualify my answer with "Unless someone you have tiered very high that slips to #11" I would make the trade. Like if the Blazers are really high on Barnes, or whatever and he slips to #11 for whatever reason
It totally depends who's available. I'd take a player I liked at 11, then if two players I liked more as a combination were still available at 21 and 22, do it then. Of course, the player WE like at 11 has to be the same player Boston likes at 11. But the difference of TEN picks between them is quite a lot. I'd trade 11 for 14 and 16, for sure. And then I'd trade 16 for 21 and 22.
Look at the players DX has projected in its mock draft: 21. Moe Harkless 22. Fab Melo 23. Royce White 24. Andrew Nicholson 25. Marcus Teague 26. Evan Fournier 27. Jeff Taylor 28. Draymond Green 29. Tyshawn Taylor 30. Tony Wroten Pretty tempting to get two of them, isn't it? It's hard to pick just two...
Interesting idea there. What about Boston trades 21 and 22 for 14. We trade 11 for 16 and 22. Houston trades 14 and 16 for 11 and 21.
Simply NO for me. I prefer this team add quality rather than just quantity. I hope they add a scorer and a rebounder. A star in the making is what will take us past the 1st round of postseason. Otherwise, why bother?
No. We have two second rounders and I suspect that it would be possible to trade up using those picks and cash to get into the late first round. The 11th pick is too valuable.
