Would the Blazers be better or worse if the NBA season had been lost to a lockout? The Blazers would still have Roy and he would have had a full year off to heal up. Even a Roy at 60-70% IMO is still better than any draft pick we'd be looking at. We'd be looking at a sign and trade for Batum. No way we'd keep him. Not worth going over the cap for what it would take to keep him. We wouldn't have traded for Felton or signed Crawford. But we wouldn't have traded Wallace for the 6th pick. OKC wouldn't be playing for a championship!
I think we traded for Felton before the lockout, so we might have resigned him for a long-term deal, and Wallace for that matter. Unless Roy comes back and proves to be healthy the next few years, I think we're better off the lockout ended. Also, our coaching situation would certainly be different.
we would likely not have made the changes we did and realized the team was going nowhere as constructed and coached, IMO the season played was the necessary catalyst for much needed dramatic changes!
Damn you're right. We probably would be offering Felton a long term contract. He'd also be up to around 300lbs by now. I forgot about Nate. He'd still be coach. I wonder if that would have changed our GM search at all?
You are welcome to. Right now my yard guys charge $25 a week, but because you are a friend I would let you do it for the same price.
