Outlaw was a more effective Blazer than Webster. My Rondo/#1/#2 comment was because you said Wroten is a 6'6" Rondo, and that's if he doesn't improve his jumper. I'm not sure how that comment gets justified in any manner at all. If you view Wroten as a larger version of Rondo, then he should be one of the first players drafted. If you meant his potential, well, that's a different story, and not really relevant to a current Rondo comparison. Reece Gaines would then be a more appropriate comparison, IMO.

I say that because many of the exact same concerns that dropped Rondo to the 21st pick are those that Wroten has, as well as many of the same strengths. Except that Wroten's 6'6" and coming out after his freshman year instead of sophomore. If he had a jumper, he'd BE in the Top 5. But he doesn't.

Rondo had "Top 5 Talent" (obviously) but dropped b/c of his weaknesses and risks. He's shown that those can be overcome. Wroten has "Top 10 Talent" but will drop to the mid-to-late first b/c of his weaknesses and risks. But they're very similar to Rondo's. Hence, my comment that he's a 6'6 Rondo.

I don't know why you're having Reece Gaines flashbacks, it makes me think that you've seen neither of them play, which I know is untrue. Where did that come from? Gaines was never anything but a skinny SG. I mean, why not toss out Jeryl Sasser? He played more of a combo guard for the Magic than Gaines did.

I don't think a guy who is supposed to be a "true PG" but averages more turnovers than assists would be in the top 5, even if he had a jump shot.

Agree to disagree, then. I'm trying to find a single writeup of him that says he's "not a PG" or "a combo guard" or says anything bad about his court vision.

He calls himself a combo guard.

Steve Nash's freshman year: 2.2 assists, 2.0 turnovers per game
Steve Nash's Sophomore year: 3.7 assists, 2.9 turnovers per game

Isn't this where we line up for BJ's from Denny? Or we all get $3 checks? Or some stolen food stamps? Something??

It's funny/interesting that Nash's college numbers were very similar to Lillard's.

I've seen all of the stuff you quoted said before, but when I watched him play, I didn't see it, and his stats don't show it either. I'll just say I don't think he will ever be a starting PG in the NBA, and I think it's extremely likely he will play SG almost exclusively.

I would SO love it if ANY of those 3 happened. Especially reaching for Lamb. I thought Drummond was the only guy with a shot to be reached for in the Top 5.

I hardly call it "insider" given the way you and the poster preface it.

Wow that would be LMA/Roy draft all over again, but better. We'd be drafting at lower spots and acquiring equal potential/talent IMO.

It's hard to believe so many teams would be so stupid and let MKG and TRob drop that far.

Probably better than most, but not THAT much. So much smoke and mirrors right now, though.
