Jason Kidd wouldn’t mind spending his remaining years in Chicago.

“I can’t rule out the Bulls,” Kidd said. “They’re a team that competes. They play extremely hard. I could end up there, to try to help win. I wouldn’t rule them out.”

Kidd also is intrigued by the idea of backing up Deron Williams in New Jersey.

"My days of playing 38 minutes are over," said Kidd, adding that he'd be okay with being a backup for the first time in his career. "We (Williams and I) could play off each other and hopefully be successful.

"I'd be fine with starting or not starting, but I want to be able to finish the game. I'm all about winning at this point."

Until Rose is healthy, maybe. Next to Rose at SG? Maybe not.

I view this rumor the same way I view the Hinrich rumors: neither of them are as good as CJ Watson. At best it's a stop-gap measure for a guy chasing a ring. At worst, it's misdirection to throw the fans off of what is really happening.

CJ Watson shot .368 from the field, averaged 4 APG, 9.7 PPG, and had a 13.3 PER. He had his chance to step up with Rose missing so many games. To keep him costs the Bulls ~$7M. Kidd put up similar numbers, and always was a studly defender at pg, and would cost the Bulls maybe $2M.

Hinrich hasn't had a 13.3 PER or better since 2008-09.

And no, I'm not advocating we get Kidd. Just pointing out what the team is probably thinking.

It would be great to get a productive PG while Rose is healing but that PG is nothing more than a band-aid unless its a tall guard who can thrive at 2 once Derrick comes back. Nobody on the trading block or in the draft comes to mind as a long term solution or even a reasonable quick fix. I think we just have to suck it up until our point is healthy enough to play. We won't own the regular season like we did the past 2 years but there is no award for that and I think this team, standing pat, remains a playoff berth squad. If Rose is healthy by playoff time next season I like our chances as is.

Kidd could help, but his minutes will be reduced when Rose comes back unless they try Rose at the two once in a while.
