So basically Lamb said what everyone else has been saying. It's probably pretty frustrating when you know someone with tons of potential who isn't putting in the work.
I have absolutely no idea... just like everybody else on this board. The difference is that I'm not going to jump off a bridge because the Blazers didn't select the "right" guy that I posted about on message boards, and happened to be right one time out of the last 30 tries.
Well.... these quotes were out there yesterday coming from Blazers media people, IIRC. So I'd suspect they're legit. (NOT that our media guys are the best, but it would seem odd that they would have just made those quotes up right after his workout yesterday.)
It's on the blazer workout video. He was asked point blank, tried to say nothing really, but was clear "if he decides to work" makes some comments about him not really warming up (just showing up and going), and then kind of smiles at the camera like "yeah, you can print that--I think I answered that politically correct." Not a glowing endorsement, but hard to tell because Lamb doesn't get excited about much.
I'd hope so, since we are drafting at #6 and #11, which are much better picks than where Smith and Babbitt were taken - if that type of talent (or lack thereof) was drafted at 6 and 11, that would imply this draft is terrible.
Here are my would be posts had I been here this afternoon MKG will probably fall. I still have no idea why anyone likes him If Cleveland wants 4 and 24 for 2, they would take 6 and 11 for 2 and a piece
I thought that was interesting also and that is one of the main reasons I dont want Drummond anymore.
I still like him. A scout said, somewhere, that even if he works just a little he will be Deandre Jordan.
John Canzano @JohnCanzanoBFT Tim Kawakami, SJ Mercury News, on @750thegame now, talking Austin Rivers at No. 6 to Portland. Interesting... John Canzano @JohnCanzanoBFT Kawakami says Golden State at No. 7 would love Dion Waiters, if he's there. "They're afraid Portland might take him at 6." 750am John Canzano @JohnCanzanoBFT Mike Ganter, Toronto Sun, says he believes Raptors will trade the No. 8 pick. Possibly to Houston, who might chase Drummond. John Canzano @JohnCanzanoBFT Great stuff from @TimKawakami ... Austin Rivers as a possibility at No. 6. That would shake up Thursday's draft.
I dont want Rivers at #6 and I'm not worried at all that we might take him at #6. Olshey is feeding the media what he wants them to report.
NBA scouts say few, if any, prospects in this year's draft play harder than Kidd-Gilchrist. The 6-foot-7 forward averaged 11.9 points and 7.4 rebounds in 31.1 minutes per on a Kentucky team that features six draft candidates. He knows he'll need to improve his outside shooting after making just 25.5 percent of his 3-point attempts. Kidd-Gilchrist patterns himself after Hall of Fame forward Scottie Pippen. One Eastern Conference assistant general manager projected that Kidd-Gilchrist could be selected fifth overall by the Sacramento Kings. NBA scouts like Kidd-Gilchrist's work ethic and toughness. (AP)"He’s a tough and versatile defender who can guard multiple positions," the assistant GM said. "The better talent around him, the better he will be. He can't score on his own, but he scores well in transition and would be really good on a playoff team. "I love his toughness, energy, defense and versatility. You can market that he will play hard every night." http://sports.yahoo.com/news/nba--k...tering.html;_ylt=AgboKEkjQogGXWSIyxEp36q8vLYF
I would probably have faith that they see something I don't, but Rivers or Soup Guy at 6 is my worst nightmare (unless we are picking at 4).
