"The Grizzlies looked Monday at the possibility of adding a two-time NBA champion to their roster as a free agent. But don't let the resume fool you. Adam Morrison, 27, spent the past two years playing in Europe and was considered an NBA bust after the Charlotte Bobcats made him the third overall pick in the 2006 draft. The 6-8 small forward last played in the NBA for the Los Angeles Lakers. He primarily sat on the bench during two straight title runs in 2009 and 2010." My only real concern with signing Adam Morrison is that he's a player that needs a lot of playing time and touches to be effective. That's exactly why he left his last team in the Turkish Basketball League and a large part of why he never succeeded in the NBA. At Gonzaga (and for a while in Charlotte), he was the go-to-guy, and that's where he thrives. He's a deadly scorer when teams have faith in him, but he can't do much without the basketball in his hands and borders on a defensive liability. I just don't see the Grizzlies having enough faith in him to give him playing time and touches. Granted, I'd give him the ball over Mayo, personally, but the reality is that the Grizzlies will just stash him on the end of the bench, if they sign him, and that's just a lose-lose situation.
