Yea I see nothing about your "Hard. Cold. Facts." that worries me about Lillard and makes me want to draft Waiters at 6. We want a PG who can score at the point, if we wanted a passing one we would grab Marshall (Who I still like more then Lillard, just want one of the two this draft). The only SG i'd draft at 6 is Beal and i'm not even that high on him. I don't mind one at 11 but at 6 we should grab BPA and to me thats not Waiters (and most of the time its not Lillard either).
Stuckey's final year stats: http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/basketball/players/38605 24.6 PPG, 2.3 steals, 5.5 ast, 4.7 rbs
Its fun looking back on past draft threads. I'm reading one from 2010 where Fez was pimpin' Larry Sanders and Willie Warren real hard.
I'd rather have Marshall at #11 than Lillard at #6. Lillard's best chance of sucess seems to be as a small SG. Some succeed, like Ellis and Arenas, but they usually don't pan out very well.
What eliminates some of this worry for me is there have been stats posted and scouting reports that say Lillard is seen as a good decision maker with a good basketball IQ and has a "natural feel" when passing. He's coachable and has a good head on his shoulders. He won't pout if he doesn't put up 20 shots.
Maybe his teammates just sucked so he carried the scoring load? But Marshall is a proven floor general. I can see teams being scared away by his mediocre athletisism though. We all know what it's like to have unathletic PGs.....
Lillard reminds me of Jerryd Bayless, which isn't a good thing considering how Bayless' career so far. Bayless and Lillard put up very similar numbers in college, including 40+% 3pt shooting.
I know this is a common belief by many, but I don't really think any of us know if his true. I know I don't. I really think it is based on the assumption that since he can shoot and he scored a lot of points he must be better as a shooting guard. But do we know he can't run a offense? And don't give me stats to prove your point. I want an actual eyeball test.
Why are you a fan if you think he sucks? You could say the same thing about Andre Miller (not a good shooter, not athletic), but like Andre, Marshall seems to have that craftyness.
DUKE! I just think he should be better than he is. One minute.... Amazing. The next...ugh. But I've posted the exact same post as your last.
