Wow, I don't see why the Sixers would do that. They invested alot of money in Dalembert, even though he is alittle immature right now he is talented and still very young. They wouldnt trade him away for a declining old guy like Dampier. I don't see it happening Mavs fans, so don't get excited.

But Damp plays more then Diop did last year, even though Diop started. The reason Diop starts is Dampier usually tends to pickup fouls early in the game, regressing his game and play, basically taking him out of the game before he even starts. Diop allows Damp to come in and not be worried about picking up fouls and playing his game. A game different from Diop's that allows different matchups and looks. That's just how the Mavericks work. There's clearly another position where the bench is a starter but comes off the bench. His name is Jerry Stackhouse or even Devin Harris. Who did Mavs start at sg? Griffin for most of the year. Yet when you think of who we would start. It would be Stack or Harris. So just because Diop starts, doesn't make him better.
Personally I would like a Diop type center for 48 minutes. Unfortunately fatigue and foul trouble are part of the game. Dalembert I don't think is as good defensively as Diop.

Dampier brought his game in 80 games last year, consistently night in and night out. He did his job, despite you just looking at numbers. He wasn't brought here to put up 12 and 12. He was here to rebound, defend the post, screen for our scorers and open the paint. He did that and was part of the reason we won 60 games.
I'd rather keep the rotation the way it is...with the veteran Damp giving way to young up and comer Diop, with athletic Mbenga as the 3rd guy.
