    Amico:

    • Several reports say the Trail Blazers are looking to move into the third spot, currently held by the Wizards, in exchange for the No. 6 pick and a player.

I wonder who that player would be? Would have to be Matthews one would think, right?

And again, I say Harden isn't OKC's best player. Or even second-best. OKC starts their two-best players.

You always start your best 2 players, at least. But you can have a key player, maybe your 3rd or 4th best player come off the bench. Like Ginobli in SA. But you don't bring your best player off.

So your point is an invalid response to my initial comment. Because I said you always start your best player. The two players you listed are not OKC's best or even second-best. But good try (not).

If they move up to take Soup Juggler then that is pretty stupid, IMO. If they move up to draft one of Beal or Robinson then it is fucking brilliant

I wouldn't like that trade unless it only cost us someone like Claver or Freeland. At 3 I would like to take a lot better player then Waiters - someone like Beal.

IDK, they seem pretty high on Matthews and him being part of the core--and maybe new team leader. I'm guessing E. Will?

Durant/Westbrook>Harden, clearly. So if you're saying Waiters is the 3rd-best player on a good team, you're making the case for them.

Edit: BG made the point better than I could.

hmm, who could they want at 3....That is WAS...obviously Beal isn't a lock there after all?

I would say Beal....Maybe Barnes or MKG?

Beal makes the most sense to me....

Wes really fits what they need, but not more than Beal. Maybe they're thinking that Wes+6 is better for them than Beal alone.

I'd rather have Wes + 6 than Beal alone.

    Wes is purely a guess.

    Could be Elliot Williams.....

I think POR holds onto Freeland, they need bigs...

Claver, Smith & Babbitt likely have little to no value

Actually, that makes sense...they (WAS) pick up a SG and then at #6 have a very good shot and getting either Barnes or MKG

could be they feel Charlotte will trade down,a nd Beal goes 2. So they figure going to 6, if we took MKG at 3, Robinson 4, maybe they think Drummond goes 5, and they can still get Barnes at 6 and a player.

If Beal is as good as they say, then giving up Wes is worth it. I like the guy but in the long run he is a role player. If they think Beal is a long term starter then go for it.

I'd love to ship out Wes. He's overpaid, can't create his own offense and is a streaky 3-point shooter. I'd do the deal in a heartbeat.

In "asset acquisition mode" I think this is the path a franchise has to take. You have to get the guys you think will be the best assets. Matthews is a below average NBA player, so if you can deal him for a "chance" to get a really good player, you have to do that, IMO

Me too if we are drafting Beal or even Robinson but no way if we are trading up for Waiters.

Seeing that he offered CLE Claver I'm guessing he's trying to ship out one/both of the Euros.

Blazers should take a long look at Oregon State's Jared Cunningham if he's still on the board when they pick in 2nd round.

That would be a good pick IMO
