With free agency starting tomorrow night Olshey has stated that the team will target someone that will "move the needle". He's not looking at guys in the 5, 6, 7 million range. He has also stated that he wants people in the age range of Aldridge and the other core players. So do you believe any of this or is he trying to blow smoke?

    I'd hope Eric Gordon.

There was no "I have no freaking idea" choice, so I almost randomly went with Hibbert.

Batum is the obvious answer here

It's not really the obvious answer.

FWIW I think looking at the roster we have enough wings and guards. We seem to be lacking Bigs.

    Hibbert.

We have an all-star PF. Neil views Batum as our second cornerstone at one of the wing spots. We just drafted Lillard to be the PGOTF. So our main open spots are for a starter at SG or C. I think the team views Leonard as being a long-term project, Hibbert would be a great starting center today. I could also see us offering a max deal to Eric Gordon.

I think both Gordon and Hibbert will be matched even at a max offers, so I think we'll need to go in a different direction. I don't think we'd be interested in Dragic or Lowry since we got Lillard. That's another reason I really wanted to get Barnes, there are much better free agents at PG then at the wing spots.

The more I think about it the more I get really confused about free agency. There just doesn't seem to be any great options even with us having room for a max offer.

Philadelphia to try to get Andre Igoudala.

    All star.
Same age as LA (one year older).
    Great Defender.
Rumored to be on the outs in Philadelphia.
    Team Nike!

If we can't retain Batum, he's an upgrade at the position. If we can play Batum, he can play the 2 guard as well.

Nah, he's paid like a franchise player but is clearly a 2nd/3rd wheel.

That's fine. I think he'll fit better than Gordon or any other Free Agent. He'll take the clutch shots.

like I said, just stockpile allstars and get the role players later.

Why? To give him a max contract?

He has such a long contract; an expiring deal if he opts out or one extra year if he doesn't...

Is some team just going to hand us a franchise player on a cheap reasonable contract??? I think a player who is clearly a 2nd or 3rd wheel on a second round playoff team would be a great addition.

I have my doubts Philly would be willing to just dump Iggy on us, but if they did I'd gladly jump on that deal.

The answer is, nobody. We are tanking this season to have another lottery pick, and we'll keep our cap room until next summer.

I voted Hibbert only because that's who I hope it would be, but honestly it's probably Batum's agent ... assuming he'll take Olshey's call.

Please not Eric Gordon. He will be way over paid and he's very injury prone.
