Blake Griffin has informed the Clippers that he will sign a five-year extension, according to sources.

Grrifin could earn as much as $95 million over the life of his five-year extension if voted as an All-Star again or named to a second All-NBA team under the 'Derrick Rose Rule'.

Griffin will also be the Clippers' designated player to sign a five-year extension under the NBA's new CBA. Griffin was always going to be the Clippers' choice for the designation, something that would have potentially been problematic had the team not traded restricted free agent Eric Gordon.

Griffin can't officially sign the extension until July 11, but negotiations are expected to be quick, according to sources.
