I wouldn't call him 'lumbering', but he's not Meyers Leonard in terms of athleticism.

Sure seems like the idea is for a PnR offense, and also an uptempo pace, but not exactly run, gun, and jack up 3 pointers.

The Pacers are already looking at other options at center. They've reached to out Omer Asik, who was with Chicago last season

For the record, I don't really want d'antoni. Simply a coach with a motion offense that can get everyone shots and promote ball movement.

With the addition of these younger players, the organization is at a critical point in development. It's important that these two guys pan out the way they envsion. Especially Lillard. Not only is it importantto have a coach that runs a motion offense that can get everyone the ball. Development and accountability is important. I can't think of a better person for all of this than Jerry Sloan. I think Jerry will see to it that your younger guys develop. If for no other reason he will hold them accountable to it. He did it with Stockton and and he did it with Williams. Made all stars and leaders out of both of them.

Oh, then we agree. I'd rather have a Jerry Sloan offensive coach (but not Sloan), though, because I think the players on this team are better served in a half-court set than running up and down the court and jacking up as many shots as possible.

    Well, as of now:

Hibbert has already announced that he has come to terms with the Blazers and will sign. This says to the world that the Pacers - 1) told Hibbert they won't offer him a 5 year deal, and 2) Hibbert wants to go to the Blazers or stay with the Pacers, but not worry about other teams that may have expressed interest. So, there will be no delay on Hibbert signing.

No word on Batum coming to terms with Minny. He is supposed to have interest from another team. As well, I bet he would like to see if he can get even more money and/or a 5th year by coming to direct agreement with the Blazers.

Batum may have worked out what he is doing by the time the moratoriam is lifted, in which case they both sign at the same time. Doesn't seem that Batum will end up signing before Hibbert.

Jaynes thinks Hibbert's deal may be in trouble because of the Batum offer sheet.

Fez was on to something with D'Antoni teaching Lillard.

Lillard was a great PnR PG in college. Olshey called him the best PnR PG to come out in a few years. Mike D'Antoni is the master of the PnR.

That said, don't think D'Antoni fits Olshey's overall vision.

Love him or hate him, the way he runs the P&R it'll put the development of Lillard and Leonard on the fast track.

From what it sounds that a signing of a offer sheet to 10 mil the cap hold increases to that much for that current team he is on. Putting the amount of money available to spend in jeopardy.

Thanks for the link. If Nic really wants out of Portland, he's going to sign early. The nightmare scenario is renouncing Batum, making the offer to Hibbert, and then Indy matching Hibbert.

    No Hibbert
    No Batum
    No Nothing
