    4/44?

    We should match that. Easily.

I think you match the $11m/per easily. This is where I thought the ceiling should be.

Exactly my thoughts. First time I've heard an actual number though, as $45-50M has mostly been floated around. Beyond Batum/LA/Hibbert POR would not really really have any monstrous contracts on the roster until Lillard and the rookies are up for potential extensions.

I think if they have an offer they like, and they go with it, and you want to match, I think we write up the contract for him, to be signed...I dunno, July 17th or whatever, but basically say look, we're matching, here's the deal, give us time to get free agents, but here is your contract.

Been remodeling my house all weekend and totally unplugged from the Puter. Imagine my surprise?

Didn't expect this, but I really like this signing, yes Hibbert is more O then D, but he's a really, really good center and his ability to play both with his back to the basket and step out and knock down an outside shot should make he and Aldridge fairly complimentary ... As for Nicolas, 11 mil/year is pretty steep, but it's probably still matchable ... oof.

How did Hollinger get 13.7M for the start of Roy's "max"? That would assume a 54.8M salary cap, no? I haven't heard anything to say it's projected to go DOWN by 4M. Anyone?

EDIT: Found it in the BRI calcs of the new CBA. Max at 58.044M is ~12.9. Hollinger's 13.7 must assume a cap of ~61M

Yes I have thought about it. I think the most likely scenario is that Indiana will match and then negotiate a sign and trade. I expect Myers Leonard would be the principle piece in the trade. I believe Olshey also expects this scenario; I think this is what he was talking about when he said we couldn't really judge the draft until mid July. He is counting on Indiana not really wanting to pay that salary so he is not expecting to have to give up too much and will surely try to send Shawne Williams contract back. It should be a great battle of wills between Olshey and Pritchard to see who blinks on this.

Sources: slypokerdog visits with Pacers tomorrow. Solid, affordable alternative to suddenly über-pricy Roy Hibbert

Well I'm not really sure, maybe it has something to do with this:

Maybe they want max salaries to slightly increase just a mil or so even if the cap is staying about the same. I think I heard something about this before...

Lopez has done that as the guy for the Nets. A lousy Nets team at that. Hibbert's never been the guy, his teams have always been solid.

I personally hate Lopez game. A jump shooting, soft, injury prone big who's fallen in love with the elbow jumper and the worst rebounding 7footer I've ever seen. He's a horrible fit next to Aldridge.
