Will lamar break out? If you read his exit interview, it seems as if Lamar's planning big things for himself.

I sure hope so,but you have to wonder how much the loss of his youngest son will effect him.

I think he'll have a career year this season. He's had a year of experience playing with Kobe in the triangle offense.

It is possible that he becomes an all-star this year or next however he can never stand as his own figure he will always be shadowed as Kobe's sidekick.

It depends. The kid is one of the most talented players in the League. It depends how hard he is willing to work, and how much he wants to commit. He has all the skills and talent to have a Shawn Marion type season.

He'll be competing with Marion and Melo for an all-star forward spot. Amare too. Odom is good enough to be an all-star in the league but the West is just too loaded with forwards. If he keeps playing like he did in the playoffs then he'll be a dangerous 2nd option behind Kobe next year.

i think he can be Awseome.- he can be "the " forward in the west. If he can get over his terrible terrible loss and playsd a bit mroe aggressive he'll be up there with KG!!!

I think he will. He is a good talent. HE really showed that with Miami. Yes he did struggle for a long time last season, but it was becasue he was learning the triangle offense. At the end of the season, as the team started to Gel together he showed signs of his true talent. I think he will be good this coming season.

I think Lamar will have a very good season with averages of about 16-19 ppg 8-10 rpg and 5 apg. However, it is very unlikely he will make it to the all star team with the logjam of sf and pf in the west (Melo Mcgrady Garnett Duncan Amare Gasol.) He'll have a good season though

:g: he kinda lost his confidence when he missed the last shot against the kings in sacramento, i think that's were kobe has to be more of a leader (reminding him to take the shot again if opportunity presents itself). Lamar looks like he's afraid of making any mistake rather than being agressive (which we saw in the latter part of year) after that game. This year he should be more aggresive and act as a second captain, attack the lane (get more FTs).

That miss, and experiance will help his game grow.Like you've all said, the loss of his son will motivate him. Hopefully. It's 50/50, he might have a worse season, or a much better season. Even in the playoffs, Odom became sort of predictable in Game 6 and 7. He never switches sides when he drives. If he does that with more agression he'll be dangerous.

I'm hoping for the best as always... we saw his triple double threat late in the season, when I thought that Odom was getting more and more comfortable with his roleI doubt an all-star spot this year due to all the competition but he will definitely be an NBA presence for the Lakies

On the subject of his son, does anybody know how he's coping with it?
