Jeff Wade: If the Joe Johnson deal is done I'd take that to mean DWill is staying with Nets 1 minute ago

Michael Cunningham: Source says #Hawks, #Nets closing on trade for Joe Johnson. Still depends on Deron Williams agreeing to sign with Brooklyn now

avid Aldridge: Breaking: Nets "very close" to acquiring Joe Johnson from Hawks for Farmar, Petro, Morrow, Williams, Stevenson and protected pick (Houston). 1 minute ago

So many "scrap-heap" type of players dealt in this trade for an aging, vet on a big contract.

Kinda reminds me of the Pippen trade, except Pippen obviously had the better career up to the point.

if it goes down, that means there's no cap space for Dwight next year. Haha, good. Fuck him. He better start looking for a new preferred destination.

Now, some sources are saying that this deal will happen even without the commitment from Deron.

Chauncey Billups would be awesome! Even if he didn't play a game, he is an all-world locker room guy.

He's also a good blend between being a scorer and setting the offense up

Two weeks ago, no chance I believe you if you say joe Johnson could be traded for expirings AND a 1st round pick.

When Danny Ferry spoke with the 76ers and Wizards about their GM jobs did he say he'd shed Elton Brand & Andray Blatche's contracts?

Will be interesting, if Deron stays because of this deal, what dallas now decides to do.

I didn't think it was possible but Dwight Howard's antics have become worse than Lebron's "The Decision". If I was the Magic I would try to get the best deal possible for him. At the same time, I would love to send his ass to the purgatory of the NBA and let him suffer for at least a little bit. As a Nets fan, I almost don't want Dwight to wear a Brooklyn jersey. He is a pitiful embarassment of a superstar. An absolute child.

Whoa, Vinyard is still alive !?

D12 is a child. There are head cases in this league, but D12 is douchier than LeBron.

I'd hope that he'd be the starter for at least most of the season. Dude's age makes him a complete non-threat to Lillard's advancement, and I can only dream that DL's demonstrated talent level would have him starting over a relatively healthy Billups. If both are rolling, there are many backup backcourt combos that they could match up against in tandem

That would be tiight. Especially if Roy could learn to play off the Ball/Rose.
