Quick mentioned that the Blazers asked for secrecy with the coaching search, so I doubt we hear anything until the offer a guy the job.

John Canzano: Bob Kravitz, Indy Star, said on @750thegame that he talked to Donnie Walsh today, "I think it's 80-90 percent they match." about 5 minutes ago

I would take you up on that bet . . . if there was some way to prove it. :)

But really, the deal isn't going to change in a week, a decision will have to be made, why not make it now so they can decide how to proceed from there.

I know there are still the details in the contract, and I could only hope it comes down to the that, but I'm guessing Indy already has a pretty good idea what they are going to do. They should anyways . . .

I can picture the press conference now:

“All along Joel Freeland was our #1 choice at starting center; we just didn’t think we’d be lucky enough to have the opportunity to bring him over from Spain.”

Well, NO said they'd match any deal for Gordon, but I don't buy it.

That being said.... they Blazers would have to tell Gordon (and get him to agree), "Hey, Eric, look. We love you. We committed our cash on Roy, but given that it looks like Indy will match, if you're still hanging out, we're spending our cash on you."

I'm moving to Indy permanently for a job this week. If we do steal him, trying to make friends as a Blazer fan should be fun.

Do you think info from a writer is going to change what the Blazers do? I would be shocked to hear any differently at this point especially since the offer hasn't even been signed yet. Much like the Blazers will do with Batum if they are going to sign it then I think they will make arrangements beforehand to not sign the offer if they have other free agents they want to go after.

I don't know about Plan B, but I think Plan C is punt, swing for the lottery, mix a few metaphores, and save cap space for the trade deadline or next year's free agency. Hey, isn't that where we started?

I think that is plan B. Olshey wants guys that will "move the needle" and I don't think Hawes or Kaman do that. They may make a run at Gordon if he hasn't made a decision by the time this sorts out but I don't think there will be a lot of impact guys left at that point.

I think Plan C will be to wait to see who is amnestied, or offer a trade to teams who are thinking about amnestying a plan.

    interesting!

We never really found out why KP was fired right? Blazer brass kept a closed mouth on this.

So if KP wants to f*#k with PA, perhaps PA just might have a very big secret that he'll let out of the bag??

    Let's see who gets "slapped" - - -

Plan B: Eric Gordon. Is he still available? Any chance N.O. might not match? If yes to both, contact his agent.

Plan C: Call everybody looking for lopsided trades using our cap space for that "move the needle" (but likely overpaid) player.

Plan D: Fill out the roster with the best players you can get (except not a PG or PF who wants to start) who will sign one and two year deals so you can set up to possibly have cap space again in 2014.
