The Raptors and Landry Fields of the Knicks have reportedly agreed to a 3-year deal worth $19m, per league sources. The Knicks can match. There is some ambiguity regarding the rules of a sign-and-trade deal so it is possible that while Fields has signed an offer sheet, he cannot be included in any s&t deal the Knicks might try to pursue--including one for point guard Steve Nash of the Suns.

    Clever girl.

If the Knicks don't match it messes with the Raptors cap space. They will have to trade or amnesty Jose Calderon, or possibly Linas Kleiza, if they still want to sign Nash--which I suppose is the plan, in any case.

Fields averaged 9 points and 4 rebounds with the Knicks in his sophomore year, a decline from his rookie year that saw him average 10/6 and shoot 50%/40%/77%.

I like this move if only for cockblocking the Knicks. I'm hoping Fields also returns to his rookie level of play. I think his decline had to do with the addition of Carmelo more than anything so he should be able to snap out of it in Toronto. Not sure why his FT% dropped so much tho
