Regarding George Hill, they say its safe to assume between 8-9 mill/year. He rejected 6.5 mill, apparently when they initially tried to extend him.
Thanks for the info. That's a lot of money for Hill, considering they also pay Granger, West, and will have to pay George.
So they will tie up almost all the way to the cap on West/Granger/Hill/Hibbert? As it is for next year, that would be matching Hibbert and allegedly Hill at $8-9m to put them right at the cap. That's the same team they had last year that couldn't get by Miami w/out Bosh. I don't think it's as clear cut as you think. That may be me and my hope just saying so, though.
Because it's a guard league to some degree? Just throwing that out there, because George Hill is a Big Pile of Meh to me.
West expires after this season, and granger will expire when george needs a new deal, so they can slide deals out as new ones go on ok.
Hill went to college in indiana and is from indiana. He is a major fan favorite. I remember someone saying that the Pacers did a lot of marketing with George Hill last year.
You know, you're right. Why else take Plumlee in the first round? And why offer a 26 y/o PG with a career 14.3 PER a 5 year deal without anybody else offering him anything? Is KP panicking without the security blanket of Paul Allen's checkbook? Why the hell offer George Hill a 5 year deal for any reason?
Well, I guess that makes sense, since he's from IUPUI. Still, Damon was from Portland, and once his limitations became obvious, nobody was upset when he left.
Kaman for 4y/$7m, and Plumlee as the poor man's Meyers Leonard of this draft. I can see the reasoning for Indiana.
I was trying to be facetious. I actually agree with you, though I think Kaman's getting a higher price tag. I wouldn't be shocked to see 4/40 for him, and I think IND pays it.
Me too, man. If they match, I'll be very sad. If they don't, I will flip out and countdown the days to opening night.
If you had been against that pick in 2007, I'd agree with you. But you weren't against that pick, and revisionist history is just too simplistic to even consider as being honest.
Welcome back Mags! I too am hoping that Indy doesn't match - I'm very enthusiastic for Portland's future!
Nope. You can always offer your own bird free agents 5 year deals. You are confusing this with the designated player rookie extension.
