If Nic really wants to go I'd be fine with a sign and trade for Derrick Williams, that's the price I would ask

Yup. I mean if they really, really want him and are willing to chuck 12 million a year at him, then Derrick Williams should be the asking price. After all the Blazers can always walk away from the table in a S&T negotiation and say "fuck it, we're matching"

That too. Might as well ask for the moon ... and then settle for a beach-house in Costa Rica.

Yes, but they're mostly using words made up of X's and O's that don't make a lot of sense.

Well, we ARE Blazer fans which means we do spend a fair amount of our time in dreamland. This past season was the season of Deron Williams is priority #1 for a FA signing. Dreamland.

Greg Oden will get healthy and be the dominant center we all expected. Dreamland.

Roy will find a way to get his knees fixed so he can continue to be our All-Star. Dreamland.

LA will become a dominant #1 option. Dreamland.

Rasheed consistently play like we knew he could (and occasionally did). Dreamland.

We finally have a decent PG and a hometown boy as well when we sign Damon Stoudamire. Dreamland.

I'm just continuing a tradition of living in the fantasy world often envisioned by Blazer fans. ;)

Kind of like his offensive schemes and not unlike his vaunted defensive adjustments.

One thing I hope I never hear Mike Rice say again..."Blazers are switching on all cross picks"

I know a lot of people want to blame his agent, but really -- the agent works for the player. if he's doing things the player doesn't agree with, he should fire him and get another one. The agent's duty is to say things the player doesn't want to say, but doesn't necessarily disagree with. Just keep it in mind. Batum saying this stuff privately, to the Blazers, is a huge difference from saying it publicly, which he'd never do.

The Fk ball is still at it....

Am I the only one who thinks that Derek Williams is pretty much worthless? He may not have the off-court issues of Beasley, but he's got pretty much the identical game in the NBA - an inefficient tweener who shoots a lot, doesn't play team ball and can't defend either forward position. It's like poor man's Rodney Rogers. He's the epitome of the bust #2 pick. (Just like Beasley.) I think I'd rather lose Nic for nothing than get Williams back.

Oh, you just don't like him because he's not a Euro.

Re: Minnesota wants Batum @ ~12M a year

He has only played one season in the NBA. He can guard 3's okay, nothing special, but he has all the talent to improve his game given an actually position instead of 3/4. He has the range to shoot the long ball, he has a nice explosive first step and is quiet strong for his position. He is pretty much Antwan Jamison but a little quicker. He will most defiantly be worth it to pick him up if were losing Nico. He is one of those players that we can build up a bit and if he isn't a 3 trade to a bad team desperately looking for a player that has the swagger to be the "face" of their franchise for a few years to please fans.

I agree with you that Derek Williams is pretty much worthless, but if you're talking about this Derrick Williams, you very possibly could be.

That Derrick Williams was also pretty terrible. However, he does have some time to become not-terrible considering he was only 20.
