He's Republican? Or as the infamous Joker said in Batman "I like him already" hee hee http://www.hark.com/clips/glybtqnkhf-i-like-him-already
Re-upped with Philly. Phew! (2 year contract for $13M. I hope that makes Indy think max for Hibbert is too rich for their blood...)
There are quickly becoming no other centers available. It's basically match Hibbert, or sign Kaman. And there are 4-5 teams interested in Kaman. That spells bidding war. Which is not good for our chances with Hibbert.
Hawes should wait before agreeing to any contract, let alone that joke of a deal. Why in the world would he agree on that tiny of a contract with Philly? He'd get 4/$32m from Portland if Hibbert is match, or even Indy would then be in that conversation if they don't match Hibbert. Who is advising Hawes? Philly is getting a steal, there. Hawes' agent must be worried, but the thing is, this longer "negotiation" period basically just stratifies the available FAs in a definitive manner. Once an offer sheet is signed on July 11, that opens up the market for a lot of other FAs on 7/12. Bad advice for Hawes, IMO.
Rubbish! There's Fesenko, Haddadi and Eddy Curry out there! Actually, there is Robin Lopez as a RFA...
People should not be excited that Hawes seems to have agreed with Philly. Even if you don't like him, you've gotta realize how scarce the center crop is this year and that if Indy matches Hibbert, we'll find ourself in a rough spot. As much fun as Earl Barron, whatever Collins brother we had, and Tolliver were in the past, I'd much rather have Hawes.
could be "C" by "committee", some Leonard/Freeland/LMA, maybe sign on the cheap a guy like Mahimi , will Darko be amnestied? This is assuming we do not get Darko. Mr Kardashian can also play a little C as well, Jason Thompson the PF/C from Sac is also an RFA
I'm more worried that Ilyasova might have agreed with the Bucks. I saw him as a better backup plan - slide Aldridge over to C and play smallball.
Move a Top 5 PF into a position he doesn't like to play in order to sign an unproven Euro to a large contract. Brilliant.
Well, it appears we put all of our eggs in one basket. To me, Indy matches, we re-sign or S&T Batum, then pretty much roll as is for the year and see what we can do next year.
I'd hope Neil and Larry did their homework before they put all their eggs in one basket. Did they look into what Indy can/can't do financially? Or I should say, want to do financially.
