Old and recent health problems, but a better version of the Hinrich model (primarily a PG, but can play SG as well). Easily worth the MMLE if he's healthy.

I'd be down with Mr. Big Shot.

Weird, though, with him and Rip on the team. But yeah, he could work.

Chauncy is really old, but would fit the role of Rose replacement for a season. Maybe if the two are healthy at the same time, they could play in the same back court. I seem to remember they did that on Team USA a couple seasons ago, and Rose greatly deferred to Billups.

Yeah, I'm not a believer. Billups looked pretty decent playing the two on Team USA in 2010. Then came a season in which his game took a huge dive with Den/NYK. I didn't even recognize him as the same player in NY. And then came a major injury with the LAC.

Maybe I'm asking too much here . . . but I sure would love to see a Bulls rumor about a player who performed better than his general reputation.

In spite of a horrendous .364 FG% last season, he did average 15 PPG on just 11.4 FGA for the Clippers. To go along with 4.0 APG in just 30 minutes. His PER was a respectable 16.1. I think it's due to his ability to get to the line 5 times a game, and .384 3pt shooting on 6.3 attempts :)

Until last season, he was pretty healthy for an old guy, playing 72 games at age 34, 73 at age 33, 79 at age 32.

I think the hope would be we could squeak out a healthy enough season out of the guy.

Seriously, the chances the guy has a 16 PER season are a bazillion times better than hoping for the same out of Kirk Hinrich.

CJ of the Transplant era would be great!

CJ with persistent plantar fasciitis would not :-(

    Who we gonna get?

I'm still hopin for Lee...But its an irrational hope, I know. I can live with that.

I know, right? Try making the argument now that ~3.5M$ isn't market for a solid backup point guard who can play long stretches as a starter.

I'll be optimistic for a change. I don't think it's an irrational hope. They are talking to Lee and I doubt it's about the weather.

^^Your words are like water to my parched soul! :-)

You know, I won't be happy until Derrick comes back strong.

And if (when) he does, I'll be happy no matter what.

But it would do a body good to provide him with some rationalized help. Lee would be a step, albeit a smallish one.

    Go Bulls!

Is it just me or does anyone else see the Bulls as the elephant graveyard of the Pistons -- with the exception of Rodman, we seem to have the habit of picking up their dead, decaying or misfit players.

    Salley was ok.

And with Hinrich, we seem to be leaning toward picking up our own Zombies and Ghosts, thank you very much!

I'm going to withhold final verdict until we see the details of the Hinrich signing. But don't forget, the Bulls can only make one non-minimum offer to a player for which they don't have bird or baby bird-rights. There goes Lee.

This dude has injury prone written all over him. Seriously you probably are better off with what you already have.
