Do some of you still want to honor this jack wagon by retiring his number? Also, take him off your avatars and names if you would please :)

I believe so. It's in fairness to the forum masses that we have significant space to talk about what's on peoples minds. The very thought of vital information getting lost in a thread not specifically designated for Brandon Roy and his Blazer legacy would be a travesty

I think his return will be pathetic. We all saw him his last season here, a slow, plodding jump shooter who could only hit 40%.

I don't really care what Roy does, my opinion is he is dumb playing on those knees and could cripple himself and have to have knee replacements at a very young age, but it's his choice.

It really doesn't bother me. I can understand why he feels the urge to give it another try, and he can't play for us so it's not his fault that he is signing with another team. We amnestied him, he's not on our books anymore, so he's not dragging down our organization with his huge contract. I wish the guy luck. I don't think he's going to be able to play very much or very long, but I think he's entitled to at least get some closure on his career.

It bothered me that with the help of uninformed public opinion Roy was able to extort $80mil+ from the franchise when he and those in the know knew his wheels were going to fall off. As amazingly clutch as he was for us, for that brief time, I for some reason don't have the same soft spot in my heart for him that I hold for many other past Blazers. I don't care what Roy does as long as the money Paul Allen owes him doesn't cripple Paul's willingness or ability to spend to make the Blazers winners again.

According to KP, most of it was insured. I don't think it makes a hill of beans difference to the Blazers at this point.

Well of course they were. They've been cleaned out often enough.

Damn him to hell for being told by one set of doctors that he has to retire, strongarming the poor Blazer management into amnestying him, then finding doctors who convince him they can improve his knees to the point that an NBA team is willing to sign him! What a colossal ASSHOLE!

I just remember how autrocis he was for just about all of that Dallas series, save one half of one game. Dude couldn't guard a folding chair in that series and he thinks he'll be able to come back and be effective, I just don't see it. More power to him but like others have said, as long as he isn't hurting the Blazers oh well. I too don't hold him up higher then past Blazers (i think it's cause he's a husky) so this isn't a big loss. It will be sad more then anything to see him hobbling around on a fringe playoff team, within our division.

To be honest I wish him well.

I mean it would have been nice if he hadn't signed with a division opponent, but with Love, Rubio and Adelman I can see why he'd want to go somewhere with a good coach and system that will probably maximize whatever he has left in the tank, just filling in the gaps 15-20 minutes a night, for as long as his knees hold up.

But then again, I was kind of souring on him after the whole Miller kerfuffle (sic) and I don't think he was quite the leader everybody thought he was ... but that's all water under the bridge as far as I'm concerned. It's the Damian Lillard era now -- and hopefully that's something to make us forget a little about what could have been.

I've moved on, but this certainly diminishes him in my view. Not that I was ever a proponent of retiring a jersey of a player who never made it out of the first round.

Plus, only Kahn would be dumb enough to give the guy $5m/per, when he's already making a max contract. So, thank you Brandon for not only the great years in Portland, but also for taking up even more cap space in Minnesota than was necessary.

    Win/win

I'd say that Roy trying to make a comeback with literally no cartilage in his knees shows that he was not "extorting" the Blazers, but to each their own!

I think it's a good thing that he signed with a division rival. Now he can flop on their roster and eat up their cap space.
