If you were building a franchise who would be the first and second players you would choose?i gotta go with the duo of kobe and Kevin Garnett.gotta have a big small combo i think ...firstly because kobe plays D, owns the clutch, has playoff experience.and KG well he simply does it all - will be big on the block give kobe room - he rebounds with the best, plays awesome d, is hardly ever injured -the whole package.im expecting to see a whole bunch of lebron and wade but you never know[IMG]

Hmmm this is interesting....at this point I would want to build my franchise around Dwight Howard and LeBron James you would have a winning ball club for the next century with those two.An honourable mention would be Chris Bosh too, or anyone from the 03' draft class!

I'd go and say Greg Oden and Lebron James.I was tempted to say Chris Paul, but you can't pass up the next David Robinson and the already fabulous Lebron James. A Point Guard would be a need for a ball club, but a big man down low and a 21 year old who is arguabily the best player in the league is hard to pass up.

Greg Oden is the most hyped high school big man right now. He's going to OSU Buckeyes next year. He's 7 feet tall, and is being compared to David Robinson. He is a great defender, and already has a solid offensive game. He's almost guaranteed next year's first pick in the draft.

yeah i saw him in the semi's. and the finals. He was outstanding in patches. simply didn't step up enough in the finals. I like Dirk but he plays soft D, and seems to go missing on Offense at times.

A Duo, you need one person focusing on up-court and one on back-court. I would have to go with Dwayne Wade and Dwight Howard. Most of you can understand why I would pick Dwayne Wade, he's young and arguebely the best player in the league. However many of you would argue that i should put Dirk Nowitzki, Amare Stoudamire, or Jermaine O'Neal. I want to focus on a young player who can really be a guiding force for a long time, which knocks out Dirk and Jermaine. Amare Stoudamire is still young and currently better than Howard, but I am afraid to chose him at this point due to his recent injury. So Dwight Howard and Dwayne Wade, this could also easily be Dwight Howard and LBJ however I chose Wade in the end due to his performance in this years playoffs.

I'd want a young duo that is shaking the league right now. A LeBron/Howard duo would be great. You get a swingman who can do many things, and isnt afraid of taking it to the hole. You get your dominant big men in the paint with outstanding rebounding numbers and providing a defensive presence overall.

Greg Oden is just the most hyped HS basketball playersince LeBron and the most dominant Center we've seen since Shaq. Anyways easily my combo would be Chris Paul and Greg Oden. If not Oden than Dwight Howard. You right there have the two players who will be the best at their positions for many years. Also there's the fact that those are te two hardest positions to find good players in. The other 3 positions are filled with great players. Chris Paul and Oden would dominate for years.

Guys, you need to see Greg Oden play in College and his first year in the NBA before you make these judgements, sure he is being extremely hyped but so was another player his name was Kwame Brown, and he's far from the superstar LeBron is. So before you make a franchis around someone you probably want to see him play.

Greg Oden has shown he is NBA Ready defensively and should pick up a better offensive game in College which Kwame skipped. I mean you can't really compare Kwame and Oden in highschool because of the fact Oden doesn't want to go to the NBA till he knows he's ready and is so determined to get as good as he can be.
