Prior to that draft I had a quote over on RealGM saying exactly, "Some idiot GM is going to fall in love with Flynn's personality, 'leadership qualities', and that 6 OT game and draft him way too high, only to watch him bust." Sadly, it was our idiot GM.
Exactly right. Well said. As long as you're not trolling (and being provocative is different), you're more than welcome here. I also love to get the perspective of other teams and their fans.
Any half-way intelligent fan of another team is welcome here... Even that Laker fan who never posts anymore was one of my favorite posters. I hope the influx of Timberwolves fans will generate one such good poster.
I don't mean this as a dig, but what's it like rooting for the 4th maybe 5th most popular sport (sports team) in the state?
Not to be mean here but the wolves have a similar if not greater following in Minnesota as the Blazers do here. So not sure what your point is. Having all 4 major sports is pretty nice.
http://www.foxsportsnorth.com/03/12/12/Wolves-set-franchise-record-for-ticket-s/landing_timberwolves.html?blockID=686198 Sounds more like it's up and coming. In portland we only have MLS soccer and college football. That means the fanbase is that much more interested/dedicated to the only sport they can watch live. If there was a hockey game and an NFL play off game, that Timberwolves sales would dip for the night. Am I wrong?
Arena: Target Center ▪ Attendance: 577,197 (17th of 30) Arena: Rose Garden Arena ▪ Attendance: 676,384 (9th of 30) Try to show it, folks.
Think here. That's while having 3 other major sports to compete with. The Twins and the Wild with overlapping schedules. Has no bearing on Wolves fans. I'll bet our two teams are pretty close which is pretty sad for Minny.
Quick with the excuses. Pre-KG/Post-KG the Wolves are a middle-of-the pack (at best) in NBA attendance.
Twins: Regular season record: 36-49 Wolves: Regular season record: 26-40 Wild: Regular season record: 35-47 Vikings: Regular Season record: 3-13 Congrats on your 4 sports franchises... I guess.
It's why I picked it; I can really be a jerkoff sometimes. Kilkenny, I'm glad you're a good sport about this abuse. It's obvious that good sports are rare in Minnesota!
I've maintained this for months, and especially since the draft: D'Antoni is the guy. Lillard/Aldridge/Batum/Leonard would be monsters in this system. Lillard in particular with his ability to shoot and his (apparently) elite P&R ability. In NY he didn't have the right pieces for that offense, they're here in Portland.
