    Re: Minnesota: full of shit?

it gives you the value of a win

batum had 6.8 winshares in 2011, and 6.6 (extrapotated) in 2012

and for every value deal, there is a gilbert arenas or rashard lewis gumming up the works

Whatever makes you feel better, Mediocre Man.

@Fez, Portland wouldn't be looking to keep Korver. His contract is for $5mil this year, but only 500k is guaranteed. He'll be cut before the season starts, likely before August 1st.

And again, I don't know any rock solid details on a pending trade, just that Korver is rumored to be heading to Minnesota, though through a friend of a friend, Korver's been told by his agent that he's heading to LA or Portland. Just piecing together rumors.

You guys looked past the fact that I came here from Oregonlive. You calls should look past that he came from something called Rube Chat.

So? He's not an asset and Neil is in, and I quote, an "asset collecting phase"

He's not. he has already made trolling comments. He just decided to play nice for a while until he sees what happens with Batum

But this is exactly why we don't respect you. Sure, we looked past it. But that doesn't mean we think much of you. :devilwink:

Exactly. His trolling has taken a back seat for a sec because he's nervous.

It's just an interesting interpretation of data. WS/48 is a decent way of telling who is performing well within a team; I don't think any GM other than Khan actually uses this (I do think Khan is actually a spambot that trolls Google for names and numbers). It's a way of looking at who is a steal and who isn't.

Definitely. Once the Batum deal is done, I'd likely never post here again. I'd have no reason to.

Everyone here makes trolling comments, you included. His were not over the top, and it seems that he's kind of taken a liking to this place. His "trolling" was pretty much all good natured ribbing, I don't think it's fair to bunch him in the the porn spammers. I could be proved wrong though.

    Re: Minnesota: full of shit?

paying people what they are worth IS a good isolated metric to hand out contracts

of course there are other things to consider, such as age (in batums favor) potential (check) and fit (still to be seen)...the old way of thinking is paying people what you think they will be worth. batum is already worth 11 million, and likely to be much more so over the next 4 years (his prime)

this isnt some 32 year old guy who we would be paying for past production and expecting a drop off from, batum will only get better, and if he doesnt? he will still be worth his contract

its a change in the games thinking, where people can now be accurately valued, if you have a problem with that, devise your own superior metric

If you don't like him because of where he came from than ignore him but the insults and argument baiting needs to stop.

    Re: Minnesota: full of shit?

Rumor has the Wolves ready to acquire Kyle Korver. That is probably a cap clearing move. Once that trade is done, then Korver is waived/released, Batum's deal would be signed. It's fun for Wolves fans anyways, with all of the rumors. The Wolves already have added Budinger, and agreed to deals with Roy, and Shved. Kahn is probably trying to move Wes Johnson and Luke Ridnour.
