It's honestly about time. I knew it would happen eventually. Now to make the Batum offer and hope it isn't matched.
Even with the Darko amnesty, they don't have enough to offer Batum more than 4/20M. They only have 4.4M in cap space right now. They could waive Miller and Webster to open up enough space, but that takes 7 days from when they were waived. They can't offer a 4/46M sheet today.
With Darko on the team, the salary for this year is at $48,791,800 as we have not officially signed anyone. Subtract Darko's $5,228,000 that would count against the cap and we are at $43,563,800 with the cap set at $58.04m. That leaves us with around $14m before the Miller and Webster contracts are dealt with. http://hoopshype.com/salaries/minnesota.htm Where did you come up with the $4.4m?
because you can't NOT deal with Webster's and Miller's contracts. You're at 53.6M until Webster and Miller are waived. That's a 7-day process. The deadline date for the options on Webster and Miller were extended so they don't count fully against the cap. There is a portion of each that is guaranteed the does count against the cap but all of it does not.
