Is this new GM going to sit idly by and watch the window close, or does he intend to do something constructive?
Pretty sure the plan was to go after Hibbert, and if that failed to pursue a trade or sit on the cap space. No need to rush into a bad deal that doesn't make sense.

Man, what a bunch of hyperbolics you guys are today. I have never met Mr Olshey and certainly have been given no reason to hate him as yet. I'm just hoping against hope that change is here and that this is the guy who's going to earn his keep. I'm rooting for him to be named Exec of the year. But given our wealth of cap space and near-future lottery picks I was really expecting us to go after Howard. Maybe he's got an unlisted number?
Can't help but be reminded of this oldie but goodie from Monty Python.
Part of the problem is that Howard's already said he's not signing anywhere but Brooklyn next year. So do you want to pony up a big package for a guy who'll probably leave you with nothing? Additionally, ORL wants young player, cap relief and draft picks. We have the first two, but we can't trade a pick until 2018, and that's not enough. I would be shocked if Olshey didn't give ORL a call. I would also be shocked if they did anything but politely say "Sorry Neil, but you're not even in the ballpark."
