    Deal Coming Soon

"several other components" coming to Portland

    Nic's offer should come today

Rice stated there would be big news to discuss tonight during the SL broadcast, not just the Felton trade

Ok, let's see if we can get 10,000 posts in this thread before the day is over. So it seems that either Batum has been traded, or the Blazers worked out a sign and trade to get Jeremy Lin. Lin is the piece I can see the Blazers wanting from NY.

I agree with MM that all of the tea leaves seem to be reading as a bigger deal coming soon. The Blazers have absolutely no need for the pieces they're getting from the Knicks. To me, what looks likely is that the Blazers have decided to let the T'Wolves have Batum. Sign and trade Batum to the T'Wolves in exchange for the two first round draft picks Bucher mentioned. Pass Jeffries & Gadzuric along to the T'Wolves in exchange for Derrick Williams. End up with Williams, two picks and a TPE equal to 50% of Nic's first year salary due to Base Year Compensation?

Hey MM, does it involve Nic leaving and perhaps at least a 3-way with Minny?

Not possible. Offer sheet has been signed (and delivered...), so he either gets matched and stays in NY or becomes a Rocket. Cannot be traded in either case until December.

If those are the pieces mentioned, LMA becomes the most-tenured nba player on the team at 6 years... We may not need a coach... We'll need a nanny!

Should make for an interesting day ... kinda wish I was able to actually keep track of it, instead of spending all day remodeling my house.

12/13 is going to be an interesting season with no proven players at pg, sf/sg, and center as starters - unless you consider Wes a starter.

If you guys get that for Batum, I'll be coming over here and giving your GM Olshey huge props. I'd be pissed.

Why? Williams overlaps a little too much with Love to ever be fully utilized and your team will end up with their number one target in free agency ... a little overpaid, but you'll have your guy.

We should find out where Scola ends up this morning. That will be interesting. If we match Batum, the time we have to spend our cap space is limited. Scola is an option.

#2 pick from last year and 2 first rounders? That would be a steal by Olshey. Doesn't matter how Williams fits with us...he's uber talented and a huge asset. He's actually lost a lot of weight and wants to play SF. You can't just give a guy away because he's not the perfect fit.

Just Williams or just the the picks would be an acceptable scenario from a Wolf fan perspective.

Scola hurt his knee. I think teams will wait to see how severe
