Zombie Blazers VS NO game thread, bitches (lillard's first summer league game)

We play NOH

New Orleans Hornets
Anthony Davis: There's a special electricity in the building whenever the No. 1 pick takes the floor for the first time in an official jersey. Mark your calendars for 7:30 p.m. PT on Sunday, when Davis will man the middle against Portland.
Austin Rivers: Summer League serves as a laboratory to test the potential capabilities and pitfalls of top prospects. Don't be surprised to see Rivers logging plenty of time at the point, a position at which many skeptics believe he lacks NBA skills as a distributor (not that we see a helluva lot of distribution in Vegas), though he's a lethal finisher. Rivers' jump shot improved over the course of the college season. Can he sustain that progress against longer, more dogged defenders?
Xavier Henry: One of the forgotten men from the 2010 draft after being selected No. 12 overall by Memphis. Still only 21, Henry could potentially be a nice replacement for the departed Trevor Ariza on the wing as a 3-and-D specialist, if his ankle holds up.

Lillard Vs. Rivers

That's the best head-to-head match up so far in Vegas.

I haven't been this excited for a summer league since 2007.

Can't wait for basketball ... feels a little bit like a phoenix rising from the ashes.

So, what are people hoping for from Lillard? 18 pts. 8 assists?

Stats are unimportant. I want to see
1. How he attacks the defense both uptempo and in the half court

2. Court vision and his willingness to pass

3. Does he get into people on defense

4. Leadership on the floor

Being a small town guy, I'd also like to see him earn some cred. nationally.

Like being the 6th pick in the draft, and most National people not thinking that was a reach?

Yes, which is dumb since many of the the mocks that didn't have him at #6 had him at #7. There was a consensus that he wouldn't get to #11.

He has very low credibility nationally with fans.

Exactly, I'd like him to start earning that credibility.

4.99 guys for all of summer league. Stop asking for links and pay half a six pack to watch high quality streaming video

In an odd coincidence the final season of Breaking Bad premieres tonight!

Maybe it was an old episode (last week on Letterman) but Cranston said this is the second to last season.

Love that show!

This is the last season. It's being split into two 8 episode blocks. The first 8 eight starting tonight then the final eight episodes airing the first of the year.

They're doing 8 episodes this summer and 8 episodes next summer to conclude the series IIRC.

Edit: Sly beat me to it and was more accurate.

Is the game on Portland Radio? I would think so.....but I haven't heard anything.

Eh?

Crazy. NBA.com was offering summer league for 4.99 a few hours ago and now the price just got jacked up to 9.99

Who was Spears referring to when he said Lillard was the next GP?

I just bought it, but it only charged me $4.99 (even with the $9.99 listed price)

Start the fucking game for crying out loud

This delay is on Kahn's level right now
