Clearly someone missed the memo that signing day for this year's class is a half year away. In an effort to take out some of the remaining piles of trash that GP laid around here yesterday, here's rivals ranking of classes head to head w/USC for the last 10 years.

    2003 USC #3 Oregon #26
    2004 USC #1 Oregon #17
    2005 USC #1 Oregon #28
    2006 USC #1 Oregon #49
    2007 USC #2 Oregon #11
    2008 USC #8 Oregon #19
    2009 USC #4 Oregon #32
    2010 USC #1 Oregon #13
    2011 USC #4 Oregon #9
    2012 USC #8 Oregon #16

As it's been noted by several other posters in attempts to curb our special Duck fan's comical death spiral, while USC is yet again on pace for a top rated class Oregon has clearly been trending up. More importantly, these newest recruits aren't falling victim to academic admission issues that keep them from enrolling like say the 2007 class where 2 of UO's top recruits (Wade, Fili) didn't make it in. In the past 3 seasons the Ducks have only lost 6 players... 3 to medical and 3 to transfer.

Even with the huge disparity in class rankings, since the '94 Rose Bowl the Ducks best the Trojan 8-6 in head to heads. It's going to be fun to see what Chip can accomplish with this higher grade of talent that is taking over the roster.

Nice, guess our fears will be laid to rest.

In other news, am I not the only one excited for Florida State's upcoming season? I think they could go all the ahoy.

One heap of stinking trash at a time. I'm sure it will come as a big surprise to everyone here, but it doesn't seem GP understands how the class rankings work (at least on rivals). The highest rated 20 commits in a class accumulate points towards class rankings. So a school like UW with 17 commits comes in at #14 for now. If you query the database average stars, Oregon is currently 7th in the country while Washington is 25th. Also pretty good chance some of Oregon's 3* commits move up in the next round of evaluations as they've been showing very well at the camps

And in other news, Jalen Ramsy from Nashville, Tenn, committed to USC today. That makes it their 3rd DB in their 15man class and they have enough room for 3 more scholarships. No doubt this could turn off Hargreaves and McQuay.

actually this could be awesome in Oregon's chances at getting Hargreaves III.

actually I never even knew that lol! Probably cause I never cared about class # rankings so I never looked into why schools ranked where they did.

    I didn't. I just went with the flow :V

And about VH3, I think now that USC is taken he'll want to stay in State and either go under his dad at USF or UF or Miami. McQuay has Michigan, USC, and Vanderbilt in his top 3. Makes me kinda irritated that Priest Willis may go to LSU now that USC has a stud DB class(hate it when SEC pluck in PAC-12 turf. You have you're own star studded region >:V)

Kinda off topic: Also, as I may go into the Sports Management for a job, and the schools I know who have good programs are WVU, Michigan, FSU, Buckeyes. Does Uni of Oregon have one?

In other recruiting news, #1 CB Kendall Fuller narrows down his top 2: Clemson and Virginia Tech. As a Michigan fan I am a bit displeased, but they may get McQuay now :V

Still no news for Oregon. Has it always been this slow in early-middle recruiting cycles?

I understand that the beginning of July is when football coaches typically take vacations. Kelly & Frost are running with the Bulls in Spain, Greatwood is in Italy... probably not going to be much action in the short term

Eh, true. But the real action for commits hits in the fall I suppose.
