Pretty cool. Check it out. I was disappointed in how short Sheed's fine list was. Only 24 incidents over a 15 year career. http://www.prosportstransactions.co...&EndDate=&DisciplinaryChkBx=yes&submit=Search
Once he moved to Detroit, his idiocy became a part of his "personality", and the refs looked away because he was on a veteran team that wasn't in Podunk Oregon.
Mark Cuban for comparison http://www.prosportstransactions.co...plinaryChkBx=yes&LegalChkBx=yes&submit=Search
Donaghy. Infamy. I am still waiting for an apology from the NBA. Stern, you reading this? Fuck you for treating Sheed like a criminal when you aided and abetted one.
Funny to think that Sheed's fines helped the NBA pay Donaghy's salary. On a complete aside, does anyone else remember when Rasheed Wallace was offering up his body as ad space? This may have been a dream, but I seem to remember him fishing around for potential tattoo sponsors. If Sheed were smart though, he would have done that with his name instead, like Ron Artest but with a profit entailed.
He should have been the new Brawny towel guy, since he threw a towel in the face of a guy who was 10x the player in his prime than Rasheed ever was, and looked like a gigantic pussy while doing so.
Don't remember that... who'd he throw it at... Pippen, Sabonis, Steve Smith...? Funny how Sheed and towels seem to be a recurring theme though. Maybe Brawny would have been an appropriate tat, because when I typed "Rasheed Wallace towel throw" into YouTube, the first video that popped up was an unrelated video of him knocking the towel offered to him by Hornets' ball boy into the stands, when Sheed was on the Pistons - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cMTSqptfRU4 You know you're a joke when Rasual Butler is laughing at you.
Threw it in Sabas' face while going into a timeout. Sabonis should have punched his punk ass. Instead, he retired while still being a 20+ PER player in 78 games during the 2002-03 season instead of playing with that jackass another season. Rasheed Wallace might be the most overrated Blazer of all-time. Career 17 PER, no NBA all-defense teams, and one season with a PER over 20.
For those of you who weren't yet Blazer fans, PapaG is introducing you to the blind racist hatred which pressured Paul Allen to blow up the team, gave us a decade of rebuilding going on two decades, and made us the embarrassed laughingstock of a league improving all around us while we now commence our second blowup. Thank you, PapaG and the few like you, for making us belatedly appreciate the great team Bob Whitsitt built, by making us persevere through opposite teams for what may become a full generation of our lives. We warned you that rebuilding often goes on forever, but you were so sure we'd again be an elite team within 1, at most 2, years. We thought you were asses in your ignorance of the longevity of a self-induced quagmire, and like the Iraq War board fights which were contemporary with this fight, we knew that history would quickly prove us right.
Sabas had lost his balance and landed on Sheed, second time that game. Doubt it was deliberate, there are many good qualities Sabas had but ballet-like grace was not among them. Sheed lost his temper and threw a towel. Bad PR but hardly serious assault. I always thought it funny how people would roast Sheed for a towel toss (to a person who was more than his own size) but make excuses for guys like Ruben Patterson.
"Racist"? Really?? What was racist about anything he said? It's people like you who play the race card with no justification who are really embarrassing.
Yes, I think Wallace was an overrated jackass because he's black. Good one! MIXUM got banned for his obvious troll act, yet this guy continues to perform the theater of the absurd on a daily basis here.
Laughing at the absurdity that throwing a towel is equated to throwing games and being involved with the Mob and the NBA's coverup of the whole sordid affair. Yep, exactly alike.
Sheed also had his own trouble with a woman while at UNC. Nobody ever wants to talk about that, though. Also, who makes excuses for Ruben Patterson?
Oh, believe me, I know that Stern and the NBA are/were corrupt. That doesn't somehow make Wallace being a douchebag OK with me, though.
Sheed had trouble with a woman? I do know he fathered a child and there was a dispute over custody. As to who is making excuses for Patterson, you don't, but I've seen it multiple times. I don't condone towel throwing, it's just that in my hierarchy of evil it's pretty low.
