Did anyone post this yet? Olshey said Price and Lillard are really close and work out in the off season. Any question about PGOTF should be over
"Decent" is a relative term. By most advanced metrics he was pretty much crap, with the eyball test the few times I saw him he was just 'OK'
Yeah, I was surprised to see how incredibly bad his PER was. From watching him, I thought he was a decent player at Utah. His PER says he was a terrible player.
I just looked up his stats. Of all the awful PGs, how did Olshey pick this one? <light bulb pops on over head> Do he and Olshey have the same agent? I'm guessing that Price is a Placeholder who won't play a regular season game. We'll pick up a cheap scrap leftover right after teams make their last cuts.
you guys both make me laugh and make me feel like I'm "in the know." Here's my guess: 1 year vet. min. guaranteed + 1 year team option We got someone willing to take that deal, and Price is an offseason practice partner with Lillard, increasing his comfort level with his new surroundings. I think it also means that Smith just got elected backup PG.
Career Averages 39%/30%/1.4 asst/ .8 to/ 3.6 pts So he's athletic but not too skilled offensivly. Is he a good defender? I guess he's adequate for a 3rd stringer.
We cut Jonny To sign Ronnie. It ain't funny If Lillard's knees pop out bony. HEY THAT WAS GOOD I DON'T WANT TO HEAR ANY LIP.
We cut Jonny, To sign Ronnie. If Lillard's knees go, Our win total will be low. But then we'd lose any way, So why not sign Lillard's Hom-ay?
This was all about Lillard. Assuming a 1 year deal. Doesnt impact next year salary cap. Helps Lillard to adjust.
This. Huge disappointment and counter to the impression I had taken from PR releases implying we were going to do what it took to be a serious contender. We're weaker at PG than we've ever been in the franchise's history.
Let's admit it. Olshey is a Clipper. He knows only one way to think. Suck, draft early, see the star leave when his contract ends, repeat. Keep swinging for the fences instead of patiently and incrementally adding good but not great players. It's the dream of every Clipper.
