The Chicago Bulls have had initial discussions with Darko Milicic's camp, according to his agent, Marc Cornstein.

Yahoo! Sports first reported on Wednesday that the Miami Heat, Los Angeles Clippers, Brooklyn Nets and Bulls were the front-runners for Milicic's services, according to a source.

Cornstein confirmed the Bulls' interest to ESPNChicago, indicating that he was trying to explore different landing spots for his client. Milicic was amnestied by the Minnesota Timberwolves last week.

The timing of the Bulls' interest is curious given they are going to have to decide on Omer Asik's future in the coming days. Asik agreed to a three-year offer sheet with the Houston Rockets earlier this month and is expected to sign it by the end of the week.

I can't even imagine Darko taking Asik's place with Thibodeau as the HC. Darko has always had ability, but he's not so big on "want-to."

Well, this is a pretty clear case of the Bulls' revealed preferences.

    So long Asik.

I agree with Transplant that it's difficult to see Darko playing under Thibs......at least peacefully.

On defense Darko's no slouch, but occasional lapses in effort and concentration seem to be the norm for him.....and he's been in the league for 8 years.

I can easily envision lots of moments with Darko standing underneath the basket looking confused and Thibs screaming profusely on the sidelines while his blood vessels bulge out of his neck.

However, if you're using the Wal-mart strategy to build a team substituting Darko at the minimum for Asik at 8 million a year is a very good move.
