I'm already intrigued by the some of the matchups. Lillard vs. Rubio Nic vs. Derrick Williams Aldridge vs. Love Should make for some good theater.
Truth is there is no need to get back at Kahn since he somehow manages screw himself. PA and Olshey can concentrate on improving the blazers knowing the wolves will be back in the lotto soon enough.
I think Roy is going to be elite the first three weeks of the season, performing at an all-star level. Blazer nation will be in a panic that we cut him too early but then his knees will flare up and it’ll be the diminished Roy from his final year here. But I do agree the Timberwolves will be one of the most intriguing matchups of the season; possibly right up there with Miami and the Lakers although obviously for very different reasons.
I think you're right, on the offensive end of the floor. On the defensive end, I expect he'll thoroughly suck from day 1.
Yes this is intriguing; I assumed they were trying to do some cap maneuvering first.... but now that Batum is matched there’s no reason to delay. The only way they could gain cap flexibility is if they don’t honor their offer to Roy; so I just don’t see why they would wait at all. Perhaps he has an extensive physical to take first?
I doubt BRoy is to too worried about his contract. He is getting paid no matter what. I am sure he is being patient with them trying help them out with plan "e".
Given the timing of their "We're gonna sign Roy you fools will see how awesome he is!" statement, I wonder if it was part of the bait to get Batum to sign Minny's offer sheet and shut down their market research... maybe Minny isn't so hot to get Roy now that his buddy Batum isn't joining him anymore.
Well he gets to keep over half of his new contract so I'm sure it's still important. NBA players have inflated self ego's and consider contracts to be sign of "respect"
True but when you are getting paid over $16 million before you even sign the additional contract , you can afford to be more patient as opposed to someone like Nic who was afraid to play for his National team because he was worried about getting hurt. We make fun of Khan, and deservedly so, but I doubt Brandon is worried about Khan going back on his word. Although it would be hilarious if he did.
