Saw this on Twitter: FYI: Victor Claver had 13 pts on 4-of-8 shooting, 3-of-5 from 3-pt range, 4 rebs, 3 ast in 20 mins of play in a win over Argentina. #Blazers
The Blazers need to finally get a hit on one of these draft-and-stash guys. The money aside used to "buy" them, the depth of talent is so shallow on the roster right now, he or Freeland really need to be able to make an impact ... especially with Babbitt looking like he hasn't made many strides entering year 3.
Interesting because I always thought it was the other way around. Regardless, we'll see. We'll also see if either of them is "good enough."
Claver is > Freeland in the sense that Oden is > Noah. You just have to forget health and actual productivity and focus on the fact that at 16 yo Claver was viewed as the brighter prospect.
I'm watching Argentina right now and they have the offense I want for this team. Constant motion, cutters, unselfishness.
In two games against Australia earlier in the week Claver had: 7 pts, 2/4 shooting, 2/2 3pt, 0 reb, 0 ast, in 12 min 2 pts, 0/6 shooting , 0/3 3pt, 1 reb, 0 ast, in 19 min http://www.basketball.net.au/filead...Documents/Spain_v_Boomer_Game_1_Boxscores.pdf http://www.basketball.net.au/filead...2/Boomers_Documents/Spain_v_Boomer_Game_2.pdf
Tonight we might get to see him vs USA. Hopefully he plays some solid minutes. This will be a good "speed test"
