This. Medina is an antique. Leonard will fill in an get stronger naturally. Mobility plus agility plus strength is the key. Not 'let's add x pounds of muscle'.

Nolan Smith was killing it before he got his bell rung. Lillard will start, then Smith then Price. That's all the PG we need. Matthews then E-Will then Barton at SG. Covered. Batum then Babbitt then Claver at SF. Covered. Let's not play guys out of position, especially when they are trying to master rudimentary skills at the NBA level.

(I was agreeing with you, BTW.)

Agree with the post, but Babbitt over Claver?
    For this to happen...
    Either Claver sucks, or
    Claver is injured, or
    Babbitt improves a lot.

I agree Claver should beat out Babbitt sooner or later, if he's any good. But since I haven't seen Claver play against the NBA yet, and since Babbitt is the incumbent, I put Babbitt ahead of Claver on the depth chart until Claver proves otherwise. I don't expect much from Claver to start out his rookie season, but as always I hope he surpasses rookie expectations.

He was getting pushed around quite a bit all week. They need to get him into the weight room and to Voodoo Doughnuts stat.

I was at the last 3 SL games in Vegas. Today's game was looking like a bust w/o Lillard and Meyers playing but I was thankfully wrong. Barton turned a lot of heads in the gym today with his amazing passing and nice jumpshot. He never looked too tired even as he played the entire game.

I can't see Williams beating out Barton right now for backup SG unless he makes a huge leap in training camp.

Seeing Lillard (6'2.75") shoulder to shoulder with Williams during one of the timeouts the other day I'd say he's a easily a legit 6'5"

The weight issue talk is getting comical. The Monday night qbs here are hilarious.

Greg's injuries probably had far more to do with he leg length issue and over compensating then his weight. Usually weight related injuries are ligament issues, not microfracture. Of all the people who had microfractures, how many were heavy?

No doubt! Now suddenly everyone who puts on muscle is going to have the same injuries Greg Oden had.....

As long as he's adding strength and not just weight, and he's stretching etc.

Anyone think any of the non-draft picks have a chance of sticking?

I like Bost's chances... and maybe The Other LaMarcus. Both had pretty great moments. I like Bost's attitude, too. He's Scrappy to Lillard's Scooby. :D

Yeah, Bost looked all right. I wouldn't be surprised to see some team pick him up for training camp. I kind of doubt Portland would, though. Between Lillard, Smith and Price, with Batum getting more touches too, it seems like another PG isn't in the cards.

(I personally think Smith is destined to be strictly a backup SG, but I think they'll experiment at least for this year with him as a combo guard.)
