I don't want to imagine this place if we took someone like Soup Juggler.

I've got to say that Daryl Morey has pretty much redeemed himself in my eyes. I've always thought he was overrated (largely because he traded for Kevin Martin, also overrated) and I thought he was just totally imploding when he was trading for every pick in the draft. And then he amnestied a very good player in Luis Scola. But I think Houston, even if it doesn't trade for Howard (perhaps especially if it doesn't) has a really bright future. I think Lin will flourish much more than he would if he stayed with Woodson and Melo, Asik is an underrated gem (if he can stop fouling people) and all four rookies were inspired gambles, high-risk and high-reward. I can't imagine they'll all pan out (and I'm not as high on Motiejunas as many, partly because of his stinky rep in Europe) but if even two of them live up to their talent, they've done an amazing turnaround, and without the inevitable slow decline. Kudos to the Nerd God, who managed to make restrictive free agency work for him in a way that neither us nor the Timberwolves managed, and got my fave draft steal in Royce White.

They should hre D'Antoni there and reunite him with Lin.

I think D'Antoni would also do wonders for Royce White.

I think his rankings are pretty odd, too. What you said, but also I think the Raptors will actually be a lot better than he's got them.

Agreed. Larry Brown would also love him, in the way that he loved John "Hot Plate" Williams. But that said, I think McHale is a similar go-with-the-flow player's coach - he got a lot out of Dragic, who is very similar to Lin. (So that was one element that puzzles me about Houston: they let Dragic and Lowry go because they're too pricey but splurge on a player who may not be as good as either. But I guess it was pretty much nakedly a marketing move.)

I wonder why Lowry and McHale didn't get along?

IMO they already have a great coach in McHale. He's going to be great for Donatas and White's development.

I think it means he serves up the dishes.

That or it is a play on his name of Waiter

LOL. See, this is why I don't like this nick name, mm. Well, that and the fact it's lame. :)

My turn I guess: "Waiters" = "Soup Juggler" i.e. a bad waiter who juggles the soup on the way to the table, or something like that. Sadly, the name seems to be catching on. ;)

Soup juggler is a synonym for waiter. I started it because I was trying to find the single most derogatory sounding thing I could in case we drafted him.

Dion Waiters. He is a waiter, that carries soup, but has trouble hanging onto it and thus juggles it.
