Ugh. I'd like to get a glimpse of Claver, but I can barely stomach watching "Team USA". I'll probably be too busy anyway.
He will DESERVE to be, but that doesn't mean he will be. 90% of being an NBA coach is knowing whose ego needs massaging.
During one of the Knicks summer league game, the commentators were joined by Felton, and he said he would have gone to the Knicks even if they had retained Lin, because he's "confident in his game." Which I took to mean he though he would beat Lin out anyways and get more playing time. If he gets beaten out by someone he's probably never heard of he'll probably go on a doughnut eating binge.
Generally a lot of that is related directly to players' salaries. Felton's 3mil/yr will not deter Woodson if he wants to bench Ray.
It probably has to do with him being unhappy in Minnesota. He just doesn't have the desire to try at basketball anymore. The only way for him to re-gain his desire is for Minne to deal him.
Claver would be perfect in the role that Nic loathed. PG: Lillard SG: Batum SF: Claver PF: Aldridge C: Freeland/Leonard Anyone?
Really interesting article at sheridanhoops.com about Love and his "entitled" attitude and how he's rubbing Team USA officials the wrong way ... http://www.sheridanhoops.com/2012/07/23/diary-of-the-uncredentialed-edition-ii/ That's pretty damned strongly worded ink. I'll bet the Rubes don't much care for Chris Sheridan after that?
Anthony Davis looks great. The only player since the '04 version of Ratliff that I feel will block everything in the paint.
I'd give them Claver and/or Freeland, plus maybe a 1st rounder. That sounds about fair, right? RIGHT? I mean, it's obvious he's fading as a player, and he doesn't want to be in Minne.
