Anderson Silva's co-manager Jorge Guimaraes, the one who admitted that the Steven Seagal stuff was a publicity stunt that has grown out of hand, recently told Ariel Helwani that they discussed the possibility of fighting Chris Weidman next but ultimately decided against it. Weidman, 9-0, is seen as too inexperienced and unknown to challenge Silva at this point. Silva's camp said it would be a difficult fight to sell to the public and hinted that he thought Weidman wouldn't stand a chance in it. Silva is content to wait out the year for the next challenger to emerge if the UFC doesn't decide to force the issue. Silva and his camp are eyeing a superfight with Georges St-Pierre but the Canadian is booked to fight Carlos Condit in November.
Vacate the belt and give him super fights. Anderson vs GSP, Anderson vs Bones, Anderson vs Shogun, etc..
