Flashbacks of Willie Mays stumbling around the outfield in a Mets uniform...

Brandon Roy is returning to the city that drafted him, an overweight, hobbled shadow of his former self...

Even on the nights when his shot if falling, and he goes for 20+ points (probably about 1 game in 4), he won't be able to guard anyone. I know Minnesota is desperate for help at SG (what they have is absolute crap), but in the end, I suspect Roy will be more liability than savior.

Maybe, maybe not. Sure, he'll be up for playing his old team, but our guys will also be up to play against him and shut him down.

Sort of like Gilbert Arenas threatening to drop 50 on the Blazers and then scoring 9 points. Way to go NostraDumbAss.

I don't know how much Brandon will be able to contribute in Minnesota. If I'm at the game Nov. 23rd, I'll applaud Roy's introduction for the memories and what he did for the Blazers. From that point on I'll treat him the same way I would any other player on an opposing team. I don't have any animosity towards him, just kind of a sadness over what was lost for this franchise because of his knees and some crappy luck.

I remember Clyde returning to Portland, got huge ovation but never had good games there.

I wish him the best, although I have serious doubts that he'll be able to bounce back to starting-level. I also hope the Wolves suck.

Emotionally, I never really invested in Roy. I think that I put most of my hopes in Oden, and I never really thought that Roy was what so many Blazers did (I remember arguing against the world about whether he was a top 10 player in the NBA or not... I'd said no because he hadn't sustained his success at that point).

He complained about getting a big contract--as is his right--and I think it's only fair that Blazers fans might have expected him to live up to it, injuries or not, once he got it.

It will be funny when at one point he'll be guarding Damian. He's gonna get smoked.

I will also cheer for Roy when he's introduced or enters the game. I hope he does well just not against us.

Yeah, he was pulled over for speeding on I84, when he rolled down his window, pot smoke rolled out, the cop noticed a pop can with holes poked in it and half burned pot. After a search of the car he found about a ounce of pot, and a bunch of stolen cell phones in the trunk.

    What a winner...

I have no hatred of BRoy. I don't think he wanted to F us over. I think he got advice to retire, decided to do so, changed his mind when he started feeling better. I think it will be just like his comeback attempts with us. He'll do alright some games, won't be able to stay with quicker players.

I'm rooting for him though. He really hasn't done anything that I can say he was a douche. He gave everything for Portland and maybe ended up with the knee injuries he did in part because he wanted to play so badly. I will always root for him.

Pretty much my way of looking at it. Roy was fantastic - and the most fun I ever had in games were in some his classics.

I was always a fan of him - and will continue to be so - he is a class guy who gave his body for the Blazers. I will never forget that.
