I see Robinson's projected role on the Bulls as being problematic. Nate Robinson is the guy you throw out on the court when nothing else is working and you need to change the complexion of the game. He's going to do some scoring, turn the ball over a ton, not play much d, and most importantly not run the team effectively. I think that's okay as a third-string point guard, but he's going to be asked to do more than that. John Lucas grew a lot last season and while I think he was a similarly cast third-string point guard at the beginning of the season, by the end he actually was doing a reasonable job running the team. I view this as another step backward in talent.

Lucas had by far his best NBA season this past one. Robinson had one of his best overall and clearly his best in terms of running a team.

Robinson not only outscored Lucas per-36 minutes, he was also a more efficient scorer. Robinson also had a higher assist rate and a better assist/turnover ratio. We can say that Robinson had a fluke season, but the same could be said about Lucas.

If Robinson ends up being truly bad, it's gonna suck because we'll be seeing a lot of him.

That's ironic because that's what I see Nate's role being for us this year. He can (sort of) run an offense and isn't afraid to put up shots. On his good days he can make some of them too.

I don't think we're expecting him to be Chris Duhon.
