Dallas Cowboys outside linebacker Anthony Spencer joined guard Nate Livings on the sidelines Friday with a hamstring injury.

Spencer, who sat out Friday and is expected to miss Saturday's session, said he's day to day after tweaking his left hamstring Wednesday.

"It's just a strain," Spencer said after Friday's walk-through. "We'll see how it feels in the morning."

Livings, who signed a five-year, $18.75 million contract to start at one guard position, could be out longer. The Cowboys originally thought Livings suffered a hyperextended knee. However, coach Jason Garrett said a hamstring strain, also suffered Wednesday, is the bigger concern.

Victor Butler received first-team snaps in place of Spencer at Friday's practice.
