wouldn't surprise me if this was funded/produced by clay bennett and his clan to make the OKC franchise look less douchey.
NBA players should be legally prohibited from "acting". You don't see actors with no basketball skills being given roles on NBA teams. That would be stupid. Works both ways.
I see where you were going but it really isn't the same. This movie will still make money, because honestly it can't cost that much to make, and it will increase OKC's and Durant's popularity, especially with young kids. He'll be their idol because of this shitty movie. That said, it doesn't look that bad compared to some of the garbage that's made these days, and I don't dislike Durant, so I won't hate on it.
I saw that. Hilarious. I saw the promo's for this during the playoffs, and yes, it looks awful, but it's really a movie for kids. Most kids movies are awful, but we're not the demographic. It's essentially the same premise as "Like Mike," right? That movie cost $30 mill to make and grossed $62.2 mill; not a huge pay day, but still a profit. My only question is whether or not kids growing up identify with or idolize Kevin Durant. If you had something equally as cheesy for children, along the lines of "Heat Wave," starring LeBron James, maybe it'd be a big box office hit, but is Durant really that marketable to a young fanbase?
Greatest Gary Oldman skit ever! I heard about this on the "Basketball Jones" sometime last year and thought it was a joke. They read pretty much the whole damn script... I can't believe its gonna be a movie.
Cute. Now they should a horror film about Greg Oden, who is a thug who goes around breaking people's knees if they don't pay off their gambling debts. And I hope someone really does steal Kevin Durant's ability just so I can say to him, "Tough shit."
